Re: Lesser known Alternate History novel I want to read
Thank you for posting about this book, because I had no idea it existed.

You're welcome.
I'd read about it in a co-review of TMITHC, where it pointed out that the show portrays an ultra-successful Hitler, while in Tidhar`s book he is ridiculously unlucky.

Lesser known Alternate History novel I want to read
Before the Nazis could take power, there was a Communist revolution in Germany. This became such a focus of world attention that the Nazis were almost completely forgotten about by non-Germans.
Many Germans, including Hitler, flee and a lot end up in England. Hitler becomes a stereotypical private detective out of an old movie, working in a bad neighborhood in London where he goes by the name "Wolf." Hess gets into organized crime, but his old friend will have nothing to do with it because he still has "principles."
One evening, while he sits around in his dingy office brooding over the lack of cases and his inability to pay the rent, a beautiful woman walks in and offers him a lot of money for an unusual assignment (as often happens in these stories). She's Jewish, but he can't afford to turn the job down. She also knows who he is.
Meanwhile, the (real, but unsuccessful in our timeline) British Fascists are doing well politically and may completely take over soon. Mr. Wolf feels a mixture of jealousy and admiration as he sees the Blackshirts beat up opponents in the street.
