I didn't realize that Christianity had such a good relationship with gays either, especially given that up until 1967, being openly gay was flat-out illegal in places like England (a supposedly "advanced" country).

My personal experiences have been that they generally very quiet peaceful people in the US. The ones who aren't afraid to speak, call you "my friend" and are rarely rude like fellow Americans are known for. They generally believe in higher education where many of us are jelous that our own parents aren't so helpful in our schooling and getting loans. I realize some will be angry at this blanket laying, but we aren't known to the world as being dumb, rude, hateful, for no reason. We just have way too much of it per capita.

For 15 years, and thus most of my childhood, my next door neighbours, who run a cornershop, were Muslims. Good people.

So this question means little to me. My entire life has been spent living next to, going to school, college and uni with, and working alongside, Muslims. It simply isn't an issue.
