I get it. This is where liberals start professing the exact opposite of how they act act in order to muddy the waters with baseless rhetoric.

Like when communist countries have the words "democratic" and "people's republic" in their names, or when liberals decry fascism, hate, and bigotry all while rioting, clinging blindly to their views, and both verbally and physically attacking anyone who dares disagree with their orthodoxy.

Or like when they claim that the problem is that they need to start appealing to emotion rather than facts, despite the glaring fact that appealing to emotion and not giving a damn about facts is their entire modus operandi.

No. We need to use both. Everyone should use facts, but facts without any visceral appeal rarely succeed in winning hearts and minds.

Telling lies or 'alternative facts', as some people like to call them, however, helps no one.

Emotion has no place in politics.

In theory it shouldn't, but in practice it does. And if the left continue to avoid any appeal to emotion, it risks losing out to the far-right again.

We need to make facts seem relevant to the public, and that requires compelling rhetotic that stirs emotions.
