Re: Just saw this … 1/5
it was boring
that eerie soundtrack was annoying
listening to poitras (sp) read snowden's emails in hushed tones, was even more annoying
she used the same trickery that the guys who made loose change did
hey, lets show the head of the nsa in 2012 testifying before congress and then show a case that was first brought in 06 (during bush 2) and try to make it seem like some sinister plot as its winding its way through the appeals courts.mwaahahahahahahaaa
lets not point out that greenwald exposes himself, not as a journalist, but a drooling advocate.cuz he is gonna get him an obama
lets not point out that in one of his earliest emails, snowden ids himself as a senior official in the intel services.not as a lowly scrub employed by a contractor
i could go on
but i gotta get back to facebooking.cuz i aint afraid of nobody

Would you care to explain what trickery is that, how it is made, etc?
I do not want a discussion, am just genuinely curious, tks.
Re: Just saw this … 1/5
You should have just left your original post on its own.
Your remarks here clearly show that you did not watch Citizenfour with an open mind; you have your own agenda.

Re: Just saw this … 1/5
I'd give it a 3/5 on the material alone. What brings it down is the shoddy editing, poor storytelling and dreary narration. Almost every shot was too long. This could have been equally informative at 45 minutes and that's a real shame, considering there is enough interesting content from this story for a 3+ hour film.
It's a great, important story, but a lousy documentary.

Re: Just saw this … 1/5
Did you learn anything in this documentary that you did not know from the news or reportings on Snowden?

Re: Just saw this … 1/5
I didn't even learn anything from Snowden I didn't already believe to be true. I give him 1/5 for trolling my country.

Just saw this … 1/5
I waited for a long time to see this movie. It showed up at
two theaters in the area that are pretty grungy, so I waited
and waited for it to show up at a nice more comfortable
theater.
So, I saw it today.
I was incredibly disappointed, this movie had virtually
nothing in it of any interest. It was long drawn out boring
and unexplained sequences of Snowden, Greenwald and
some others in motel room talk about how to talk about
the information, but there was maybe one or two minutes
of actual discussion of the information in the movie.
I simply could not believe this. This was a total rip-off
and waste of times and I hope everyone finds out and
misses it. Minutes and minutes of Snowden talking about
his shaver, trying to style his hair, mugging for the camera.
Ugh this was really bad. In retrospect, what did I expect
really since this is a mass market movie in the US about the
excessed of the US government.
Basically, what you could glean from the movie is just
what we all already know. First, Snowden is skinny, has
blonde hair, stubble, wears black glasses whoopee.
Second, the NSA is collecting data and they can search it
tying things together in the different ways database analysts
have learned to do with other data.
He talked a little about how the files he got were arranged,
but did not show them, or say where they can be had. We
know Greenwald has them, I guess he does, and some others,
but like Wikileaks before it, the information from these
documents is stopped, frozen and nothing is really coming
out that is more detailed or specific.
This could mean any number of things, but trying to imply
data from a movie just means the movie is bad.
Avoid this at all costs. 1/5. Useless unless you want to
know what Snowden looks like and how fast he can type.
