Stop Demanding Answers

People that need everything explained to them are the worst. I find a film far more psychologically engaging if it deals in ambiguities and irresolution. There's something stimulating about NOT KNOWING what a scene means, what a character's motivations are, the ideologoy or symbolism to be found in the specificity of a shot. How can people be so opposed to thinking for themselves or drawing subjective conclusions without exaggerated, hyperbolic, blatant direction dripping blood for their noses to trail like blind hounds? Having seen the film, I find myself absolutely intrigued if not more-so afterward in my recollection of it. I commend director Zack Parker for being able to wring suspense out of his surrealism and being bold and ambitious enough to accept that some things are better off mysterious when they serve a story's jarring and visceral tone. Fascinating filmmaking.

That's all fine and dandy, but how do you explain Anika knowing HOW AND WHEN Esther got shot when there was no identification by the press OR cops? The director just wanted her to suddenly become a clairvoyant when she was talking to the tattoo artist??

When there is no more room on IMDB, the trolls will wheel to 4chan.

Re: Stop Demanding Answers

There was the recorded news clip and the news article that she read that said that the intruder was "unknown at this time" but those both came out right after the murder. The tattoo scene was a month after the murder. It is possible they released the name of the intruder a couple weeks after the murder. Anika does say "they are saying she murdered their son" making it sound like they did out the name of the intruder. I think it could have been written clearer but I don't think think it's a plot hole like some describe.

Re: Stop Demanding Answers

The cop told her what neighborhood her truck was found in, so that narrowed it down. Then she probably was able to find the news clip online, which showed the exterior of the house. Once you know what a house looks like and the exact neighborhood it's in, it's not too difficult to find it.
