Archie Panjabi : Leaving THE GOOD WIFE

Leaving THE GOOD WIFE

She's signed a development deal with Twentieth Century Fox TV and will star in a drama pilot in the fall.

She's become so underutilized on the show, it's no wonder that she's leaving when this season is up.

Good for her. She's fantastic.

Re: Leaving THE GOOD WIFE

She will be the leading lady.... This is a great news!! I think she will be good in comedy too, I h 7ec ope they don't limit the storyline.

Re: Leaving THE GOOD WIFE

She is a great comedy act 2000 ress too. Watch East is East from years ago.

Re: Leaving THE GOOD WIFE

Yes, glad to hear this. She is fantastic on the Good Wife. A lot of actresses are beautiful but she is knock-dead gorgeous.

Re: Leaving THE GOOD WIFE

I just read that she's leaving the show and I'm ticked off. She's the reason I watch every week all that lawyer stuff has been done before, but her character is unique to television drama. Kalinda (love that name by the way), has so many many levels and layers to her character. I started watching the show at the end of season 3.. I have slowly been watching the previous seasons to get caught up, but I don't know what Kalinda background is, was she a cop, FBI agent, or a CIA operative? I've never warmed up to the character Robin and it looks like that character was dropped from the series. Does anyone know if the pilot she did was picked up? She was working on something with Gillian Anderson, The Fall (unfamiliar with that series), but since there will be an X-Files reboot, is The Fall cancelled now?

The Fall was renewed for season 3, which will start shooting ca December 2015. I recommend the show. Archie's role in it is relatively small but important and well acted. Unlike in The Good Wife, she has plenty of scenes (and great chemistry) with the leading lady. ;)

Re: Leaving THE GOOD WIFE

Archie and Julianna weren't even in the same room when they shot her final scene for TGW. The rumor is that they haven't gotten along for a while. Does anyone think it's because Julianna is the star and Archie was getting a little too much attention or too big for her britches?

Re: Leaving THE GOOD WIFE

That's what many have speculated but its such a petty reason to openly hate someone.
Can't help but see that reason as yet another assumption that strong women can't get along without rivalry and cattiness.

Whatever the real reason is I am most interested to find out what in the hell could have precipitated that the bosses of one of the most acclaimed shows on TV would operate with such a lack of professionalism.

"Can't help but see that reason as yet another assumption that strong women can't get along without rivalry and cattiness."

Well, aren't we quick to bring our little bucket to the sexism well? My question was motivated by 5b4 having dealt with actors and media personalities for a few years, I know for a fact that sort of thing happens regardless of gender. And pettiness doesn't always enter into it. The behind the scenes manipulation of writers and producers for better lines and story arcs can help one career and hurt another. It happens. We are talking about people's livelihood, millions are at stake. So, I wouldn't really typify irritation in that sort of situation, real or perceived, as necessarily "petty."

Re: Leaving THE GOOD WIFE

Puzzled that you would accuse me of sexism. You've quoted me but seems you've not actually understood my point?

And yes I do think it's petty that the lead star who is also a producer and who has won two Emmys for her performance - a person who is, by all accounts, a grown-as$ woman - would go to such great lengths to sideline another cast member.

Re: Leaving THE GOOD WIFE

I wasn't accusing you of sexism. I was saying that people all too often are too quick to attribute something to sexism, which is what I felt you were doing. And no, I was not saying that I thought Julianna got Archie pulled from the show. That;s ridiculous (though not unheard of.) Archie made the decision to leave because her star is on the rise. I just wonder if the reason they didn't get along was because she perceived Archie as getting a little arrogant about her importance to the show.

Re: Leaving THE GOOD WIFE

I've read almost all of Archie's twits (including her replies to her fans) and interviews seen on video/articles, I must say she's unbelievably one of the nicest people/actress I've ever come across. She's so kind and gracious towards people. Not a slightest hint of any arrogance I could detect on her.Not even one drop..Lol! Whatever happened between them remains alittle mystery. I suppose 16d0 the producers or who ever it may be have made a certain strange decision that needed to be followed.

Re: Leaving THE GOOD WIFE

Unfortunately Margulies has a really, really really bad reputation in the industry for being petty and extremely difficult. She got Panjabi kicked off the show
