Pretty certain Trump was received as an arrogant, cartoon billionaire long before there was a twitter.

When something is so easy it should not be commendable to achieve it.
Re: The worst thing to ever happen to J.K. Rowling …
My favourite Rowling 'social media facepalm' moment came in the aftermath of the 'Black Hermione' stunt/non-saga when she decided to rewrite her own history and that of her literary creations by declaring that she never actually confirmed what the character's ethnicity was.
Take that white Hermione loving waycists!
Only problem was Rowling was fibbing and had described the character as white, strongly implied it on several occasions throughout the Harry Potter saga (e.g. 'Hermione turned white with fear'), raised no objections to her books' cover art depicting Herminione as white and even worse, drew all her characters herself in the late nineties.with Hermione drawn as most definitely white. Not exactly 'ambiguous' after all then.
But hey, it's 20whatever and virtue-signalling is in like never before thanks predominately to social media so some (not so) subtle revisionism, nay bullsh^tting is evidently in order!
Disclaimer: I couldn't give a sh^t what colour the actress playing Hermione in a stage play was/is, I merely lament that Rowling saw fit to brazenly lie just to smugly affirm her purported right-on credentials.

In her defense, I don't recall Hermione's race ever being described. Then again, I read the books ages ago. Thought they progressively got lazier after the 4th tome.

"Turned white with fear" is just a cliched term and can be applied to anybody.

Cobblers.
If you applied such a phrase to black/non-white character in a literary work you'd assuredly be accused of racism!
I also wryly note that you failed to refute any of the other compelling examples proving that Jo was talking out of her arse re: Hermione, too
Let's also not forget that the name 'Hermione Granger' is a so painfully traditional, middle-class/conservative (thus almost certainly white by implication) that it relegates the character's ethnicity all but beyond reasonable question*.
*though that admittedly doesn't exclude the remote possibility that such a character could conceivably be of mixed heritage
Re: The worst thing to ever happen to J.K. Rowling …
Alright, I'll give it to you.
But I still stand on my argument about "turned white with fear".
And "Hermione" does sound like the kind've of overtly colorful name a black family would baptize their daughter with.
One of the only bits of evidence Rowling provided was Hermione's "nappy hair". Again, I do not recall the description of the character very well. Have not read the books in over a decade.

GladysOver,
I randomly flipped through THE GOBLET OF FIRE and found this passage early on
As you can see GladysOver, Hermione being black is looking much more possible.

Ron stroked his Weasly until it spat. The viscid, powerful stream (that only a teenage boy could muster) found its way to the living portrait of Professor Fondageu. The ex-administrator let out a loud "harrumph" and buggered off as the penile expectorate slimed its way down his canvas.
Ron let out a sigh of relief and cleared the sweat from his brow "A lot as changed over the summer", he said to himself. "Hermione has quite the badonkadonk, now".

Re: The worst thing to ever happen to J.K. Rowling …
Yeah, her denials were very 1984ish in nature. "We are at war with Eurasia. We've always been at war with Eastasia."
You know, she's a writer. A very creative one. She could have simply just conjured up a very simple backstory and said that Hermione's new skin color was the result of a potion backfiring, but Hermione was not at all abashed by the change. That it was no nevermind to her.
Or she didn't need to explain it away at all - and just acknowledge that Hermione was written by her as a white girl in the book, but that doesn't mean she has to be portrayed by a white actor. But, no, she instead went Orwellian with her protestations by demanding and lecturing everyone else that they were wrong in assuming that Hermione was white in the book despite, well, being correct that she indeed was.

^Hypothetical examples like that are one of the reasons why I'm eternally grateful that fate decreed Rowling create her characters in the late nineties rather than later as one suspects the Harry Potter books would've been riddled with divisive, right-on gesturing/box ticking bollox reflecting their author's 21st century, social media-derived political preoccupations.
But of course they weren't and consequently we got peerlessly evocative, universally accessible books set in a sumptuous fantasy world mercifully all but untainted by trite, Muggle-centric politik and visceral ideological polemics!
That said, Rowling did try it on towards the end of the HP saga I recall by claiming Dimbledumb was in fact gay. despite absolutely no mention or reference to his sexuality ever being made in the books, as far as I recall. Clearly a retroactive gesture then and another example of Rowling's penchant for achingly right-on revisionism!

Agreed.

Uh-huh. Harry would have been the antagonist. The scar on his forehead would have been a "W" for white privilege. And HeWhoShallNotBeNamed would have been the hapless, misunderstood protagonist from the immigrant class who just wanted a better life in the land of the Muggles, but instead was forced to lash out due to evil spells cast by the secret ruling class, headed by all those evil wizards and witches, against his people.
Dumbledore still would have been gay. Trans something or another too.

You must be insane, they'll kill her!

Only little people take in refugees.
Re: The worst thing to ever happen to J.K. Rowling …
I never read the Harry Potter books but I heard they are poorly written. She's just a twat who wrote some crappy books.
Re: The worst thing to ever happen to J.K. Rowling …
I can't judge the quality of the writing since I read them all before my frontal lobe developed, but I distinctly remember myself losing interest with each subsequent release after the 4th installment. I only made it to the end because enough time had been invested already,; so why not finish the ordeal?
Re: The worst thing to ever happen to J.K. Rowling …
If you want to troll privileged libtards, you just accuse them of racism.
Ask her why her books have no black lead characters (and do it in a really progressive judgmental way). She'll lose her fücking marbles. They always do.
Jim Jefferies (an anti-PC comedian who has some very questionable non-progressive views) presenting himself as a sensitive soul who is really concerned about what happened to the Jews was too fücking hilarious for words though.
These people are priceless.

When I find myself agreeing with Piers Morgan (another insufferable cVnt) I know the left has past the point of no return from retardation.
