The Flash : This season has just turned characters to garbage
Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
Cisco had the right to be pissed at Barry at the beginning of the season. He also had the right to tell the honest truth to HR because no one else seemed to have the guts to say it. He's becoming better as of late though.
You want Iris to become season 1 Iris again? The one that nags on everyone about not telling her things that do not really concern her.

That's a major exaggeration. Iris's discovery about Barry's life as the Flash, her shock, hurt, anger, and forgiveness was all done and wrapped up in one episode. She has never been one to constantly nag everyone about not telling her things. Barry Allen himself told Iris that she had every right to know. In fact, Iris was the first person Barry planned to tell once he got his powers. It was only because of Joe that he didn't. And Iris's life, which was threatened by an enemy of the Flash, certainly concerned her. The murderer of Barry's mother put a target on Iris's back, he could've scooped her off the street anytime if he wanted to and killed her to further hurt Barry. Later on Captain Cold finds out the Flash's identity so he can be added to the list of enemies who could capture Iris to get to Barry. I believe General Eiling as well also knows of the Flash's identity, so even he can be added to the list of people who could harm Iris to get to Barry.
James 4:8
Easier to say you're right than I'm wrong.
Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
Is it though? Season 1 Iris did nag a lot more than season 2 and so far season 3 Iris.
Nagged on Joe for not telling Barry was the Flash, that he knew Barry loved her, that he shouldn't tell her she can't write about the Flash.
Nagged on Barry for not letting her know what he does in his spare time like that is something he's obligated to tell her.
Nagged on Eddie because he wasn't talking enough or whatever was wrong in their relationship.
Eiling said Barry could relax, that if he wanted to take Barry in he would have already done so.
Alright, some things did concern her but honestly, of all the characters to complain in season 1 she did it the most.

But Iris is entitled to nothing. Okay.
Ankhs, Hotep's, Coons, and Uncle Tom's will be the death of me.
Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
Being angry at someone because they withheld a secret about being a superhero and be angry at someone because they rewrote history so that your brother is dead aren't the same thing.
Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
Are you a Patty Spivot fan? How about Caitlin?
Iris West: Hated for existing while Black.
Iris West: Hated for existing while Black.
Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
How is that relevant?
It was equally ridiculous when Patty decided to break it off because Barry couldn't tell her the same secret. No, actually not equally, this situation was even dumber because Barry wanted to tell Patty in episode 10 when Patty didn't know and then in episode 11 Patty found out on her own but then Barry didn't want to tell her despite that she told him that she already knew.

Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
It's relevant because both of them nagged Barry, yet here we are. Patty even nagged Joe, again, here we are.
But go off on Iris, I guess.
Iris West: Hated for existing while Black.

Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
We were discussing Cisco and Iris so no I don't see how bringing up two other characters and ask me if I'm a fan of them is relevant.
Patty complained too, yes, is that what you want me to say? Because I just did that in the post you replied to.
In which case did Caitlin nag on Barry? When she went out to find a cure for her evil powers and Barry tried to stop her? She hadn't even hurt anyone besides that Savitar worshipper, the god who mind controls people.

Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
All season one, just like you brought up Iris. Idc who this post was about. If you're going to call out somebody, then you can't ignore what other characters have done. That's only fair.
She nagged Barry to stop messing up Iris' love life. More than once!
She nagged Barry to stop meeting Iris as The Flash. More than once.
She nagged Barry so much he had to tell her that he wasn't Ronnie and to stop treating him like he was.
Do you remember now?

Was a while since I saw season 1 but I can remember what you're saying is right.
Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
Would you look at that.
Iris West: Hated for existing while Black.

Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
She "nagged" on Joe and Barry for one episode. It all happened in the same episode. You've summed up Iris's character as a nag based off of one episode.
When did this happen? And if it did, what's wrong with telling her dad that he can't tell her she can't write about the Flash? She's an adult whose found something interesting and inspiring to write about to get her started on her journalistic career. Remember she said she was writing about him for Barry's sake, because she felt Barry was giving up on ever proving the impossible, on ever finding his mother's killer, as well as to give hope back to the people of Central City who had been terrorized by meta humans for the nine months that Barry was in a coma. She wanted people to know that there was someone who was fighting the battles they couldn't, someone they could put their hope in. Iris finally found something she was passionate about and she wasn't gonna give it up just because her dad told her to.
Iris had a right to "nag" her boyfriend. Due to the secret that Barry and Joe laid on Eddie, for the sole purpose of having him lie to Iris, Eddie was becoming distant with Iris. If you're in a relationship with someone and you feel them pulling away, when you know you're lying to your face, wouldn't you question it? Would you really leave things as they are? Letting secrets continue to fester and drive you two apart? Iris said that Eddie had been withdrawn, that he wasn't talking to her, she could tell that he was lying to her face when she questioned him and she was afraid he was cheating on her. Those feelings, the behavior that generated it needs to be addressed. How can you possibly move forward in a relationship or feel secure when your partner is being distant, obviously hiding something that's affecting their behavior towards you, and clearly lying to your face about it?

Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
Yeah, in the middle of introducing Grodd all we wanted was of course to see Iris barch in and be upset with Barry for 5 full minutes, definitely.
The webpage thing happened early in the season, around episode 5 or 6.
I'm not saying Iris nagged all the time but if there is a difference between Iris in season 1 and Iris in season 2 that I'd point out is that she stopped being upset with her family members.

Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
I know you hate Iris, but it did concern her. As long as Barry was in danger she was too
Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
Are you replying to the OP or to me? If you're not replying to me then nevermind. But if you are then:
Iris was rarely in direct danger. Tell me why she needed to know Barry was stopping people from thieving and murdering. Pretty sure murders occured well before Barry became the Flash so should he have openly discussed every case he ever had? Only because he decided to act as a police as well she should know about everything?

And that's your crap opinion op, to which of course you're entitled to.
Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
Caitlin has been the most selfish b!tch imaginable. Deal with it.

Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
Isn't it interesting there is always a complaint from folks when there are great Westallens scenes. So much griping over a couple being in love you would think its a damn disease. They are beyond pathetic now
Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
From hnt_dnl:
LMFAO! She is really losing it. I'm just sad I won't see her fall deeper into the abyss.
Ankhs, Hotep's, Coons, and Uncle Tom's will be the death of me.
The show has gotten more serious and predictable. Barry has become a dullard because he's stuck with Iris. Their scenes are boring as hell. She's dragging his once-great character down to her leve

Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
Cisco is returning back to his normal self. Catlin is coping with being Killer Frost. Julian is a nice addition. I am loving West Allen and they have the cutest scenes together. WALLY is coming into his own and Joe is happy and in a relationship. I'M LOVING THIS SEASON RIGHT NOW.

Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
Are you suggesting Barry was exciting before? Barry Allen is a great guy, but he's dull. That's par for the course. The writers even "borrowed" Wally's personality for him and he's still "good guy even-keeled" Barry. WestAllen has been good for him, he's now protective, masculine, and has a sense of humor.

Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
Barry has always been interesting character that's why people tune into the show. He has a lot qualities you can relate to actual qualities that women find interesting in men. But as someone who judges by outward appearance it makes that Wally is your style he is concieted obnoxious and full of himself. Some of us we prefer reflective cerebral thinkers not ones who have a brain but would rather coast on their brawns making you question whether they even a brain. Barry types are the ones who move industries Wally types fade once they start losing their athleticism and good looks. They can't rely on brains cause it fades if you don't exercise it like you do your body. They have nothing to fall back on so they end up longing for their glory days of the PAST!
Re: This season has just turned characters to garbage
Barry is non-threatening and cries a lot, he's the second daughter Joe never wanted. I can see why Betas love him.

Some people appreciate those qualities in a mate and mating is a necessity for human survival. Nothing to complain about.

Barris is a cheap filler: takes up screen time without costing more money. With the usual ratings decline each season, it makes financial sense. Storywise, it sucks donkey balls as they continue to be The Boring Part of each ep and nothing would be lost if their scenes were cut.
