The Flash : How fast is Barry?

The last episode shows the speed of kid flash in the S.T.A.R. Labs (about 1800MPH). Anyone know the speed of Barry and how will speed progressed though the series?

In "The Flash is Born" (S1E6) Barry reached/surpassed the speed of sound which is approximately 761 mph.

In "Fast Enough" (S1E23) Barry reached Mach 2 which is approximately 1522 mph.

In "Trajectory" (S2E16) Barry reached Mach 3,3 which is approximately 2512 mph.

In "Versus Zoom" (S2E18) Barry used the tachyon device that according to Harrison "Harry" Wells made him four times faster which would be Mach 13,2 and that is approximately 10048 mph. This made him faster than Zoom but since the tachyon device works like a battery it eventually runs out of energy so it only works as a temporary speed boost.

In "The Runaway Dinosaur" (S2E21) Barry visited the speed force and when he came back he had regained his speed force powers and since he was fast enough to match Zoom's speed in "The Race of His Life" (S2E23) it's easy to assume he gained extra speed from this visit.

Keep in mind that Barry has to build up this speed over distance and doesn't go from 0 to 10000 mph in an instant.

So how is he not fast enough to save bae, but he asks Wally who's only Mach 2 or so?

There is no Flash without Iris West.

Wally is not fast enough yet. He has the potential due to his speed increasing exponentially faster than Barry's. In theory he should be able to eventually run faster at a quicker rate because math.

Except he's really not Barry managed to increase his speed by 120% in 7-8 months in S1, and atleast about 750% in S2, Wally in 2 months has increased his speed by about 20%, so that logic is so insanely idiotic it's like the writers aren't even trying.

On top of that it's a silly assumption that ignores every other actual established fact shown this season, every Flashpoint meta gained their full Flashpoint powers including their mastery of it from Flashpoint, Wally being faster than Barry at the same level of their training makes a million times more sense to be because Wally is getting 2 years of training under his belt to begin with, which his 2 years compared to Barry's is night and day Wally couldn't deal with Rival but Barry smoked him like it was nothing straight up.

If anyone would be the one to hope can help it would be Jesse as she without Flashpoint backdooring in her speed was much faster than Wally and that was after a few days not months like Wally.

This whole season is such a brain fart it's so disappointing given the promise it had.

Wally has more upside. Like how Venus used to beat Serena, but the pundits said eventually Serena would be better. They were right.

I'm not a fan of Wally either, but it's not exactly brain surgery.

Barry knows approximately the distance away he is going to be from Savitar, and that it's too far for him to cover with his current rate of speed, even accounting for his average rate of progression.


However, if they change the field by putting Wally onto it, they can put him down wherever in the field they want him. He won't need to be AS fast, because he won't have to cover the same amount of distance.

I don't think the plan is for Wally to fight SavitarBarry has already tried to double-team Savitar with another speedster, who is both faster and more experience than Wally. It didn't go well.

I think the plan would be for Wally to grab Iris and get her to safety, while Barry attempts to battle Savitar.

Not fast enough to not get beat up in nearly every episode

I think on the end Barry is going lock Iris in pipeline on May 23rd. If he doesnt defeat Savitar before then. Some people were saying why not just lock Iris up and problem is solved. Its actually not solved. The only way it is solved is to remove the threat permanently. So he has to take away Savitar advantage which is Iris. He removes her from the equation and then he and Wally can go after Savitar. I just cant see Barry standing there with Wally while Savitar has Iris and he tells Wally go save her. Since theyve already seen it. It just cant play out likd that

Cobi gave you some good facts but also to add depending on if Zoom absorbed Barry's tachyon enhanced speed or just his normal speed either way Zoom before hand was near match for Barry using the device, which would put him conservatively around Mach 12 or 13, depending on what he absorbed he should then have been capable of as low as Mach 15.3 (11,739 MPH)> or as high as Mach 26.2 (20,102 MPH), and Barry came back faster than Zoom, so Barry should have a speed level of just above those numbers minimum, given he should have gotten faster since also.

Considering mind you that after Zoom took Barry's speed he was shown having powers greater than before, it goes to show Zoom actually got faster after taking Barry's speed, that it wasn't just stabilising him but enhancing him, as prior to it Zoom could be stranded in E-2 but after he could tear holes between worlds with his mere hands.

What about Savitar? I've read about that he is 3-4 times faster then flash, travelling at around mach 70.

As fast or slow as the writers want him to be.
