The Affair : Helen's obsession with Noah makes perfect sense

It's one of the things that makes Helen an interesting character.

We know that Noah represented several things to Helen.

He was someone her Parents didn't like
She saw herself as dating down to Noah so how dare he divorce her
She saw him as a project that needed to be saved

When you understand these things about Helen, you then understand her obsession with Noah. He also just went to jail to protect Helen.

So Helen was totally committed to Noah and he had the affair. It was just a total rejection of Helen as a person and this is why she can't let go.

What's funny is that she's so scathing about her mother's "pathetic" willingness to go back to a man who cheated on her with a younger woman.

I think that's why she criticized her mother for it. She knew she would do the same, so she was projecting.

True good point. I don't think they will end up back together in the end they're too destructive. Cole still loves Alison and I loved the scene with Alison and Noah he said he gent bad she had no one there for her after losing Gabriel her response was I Did I had Cole. We finaly her to see that she realized she took him for granted

I do think Helen still has feelings for Noah but taking care of him is not at all bizarre.

That is the father of her kids and he saved her from possibly going to jail. It's not weird or creepy to take care of him while he is obviously mentally unwell.

He saved her from going to jail, so now she needs to repay him by getting out of his life because that's what he wants.
