Well, she's a voice actress. Being in the voice acting industry requires much more than just having one nice voice; it's hard to get a job with just one, no matter how lovely it may be. You need many, and Tara can supply that. She can do goofy, high-pitched voices (like Bubbles), gravely boyish voices (Timmy Turner), mean grim voices (Raven) and many others.

The fact that her characters are often difficult to recognize as her is a testament to how good a voice actor she is. To make a comparison, Cree Summer, Tara's collaborator on many projects, is also amazingly talented, but you can usually pick out her characters. I'd say there are probably lots of animation fans out there who would be stunned to find out just how many of their favorite shows feature Tara in their casts.

Yeah, I agree. Cree's talented as hell, though I can spot her voice without fail.
Though I've seen Tara in so many things, that I can actually pin point her, even as a random, one-time character that speaks in a voice that's not Tara's at all. :)

The only time I really recognize Tara's characters when they're not pointed out to me are when she happens to do a voice that's similar to one I've heard her do before. For instance, you can occasionally hear snatches of Bubbles when she does Toot Braunstein, but I probably never would have connected the two if I didn't know already she did both characters.

Hey, this is a little off-topic, but have you heard her in Spirited Away? She was amazingly good; I mean better than usual. I had to check on here to make sure it was her (she played a large whiney baby, and used her "Dil Picles" voice).

I can't say I've seen Spirited Away. I didn't know Tara was involved with it, though I can't say I'm surprised, considering how many projects she's a part of. I'll definitely check it out when I get the chance.

Ninja Gaiden? Never heard of it. I'm from Hong Kong and I don't get the chance to watch every cartoon in USA. Oh, speaking of Spirited Away, I didn't know it was her. I thought she was really a kid or something.

Heh, I never thought Tara could play someone who would have a voice aqs mature as that (I didn't hear her voice yet, but she looks like it'd be mature).

Believe me, her voice isn't as mature as she looks. I heard her interview(which is like 1-2 years ago.)So yeah.

Why would she make her characters sound like herself? The goal for a voice actor is to change it as much as possible.Does The Joker sound like Mark Hamill? Nuff said.

She dosen't look like she'd have a very mature voice. She looks like she'd just have a111c more mature version of. Bubbles voice (minus the squeak).

Yeah, I guess so. And voice actress isn't just about changing voices. It's about being as much like the character as possible.

What did she do in Spirited Away, she wasn't the main character (Zen) cause we know who was that part (Chase, Lelio from Lelio and Sitch).

I don't think that they're all starting to sound alike. It's just that you're starting to listen carefully. Just like I did. After I found out that Melody(From The Little Mermaid 2) was actually Tara Strong. I started to listen carefully to all the characters in every cartoon I'm watching. They, I figured out some and can't figure out some. And wh16d0en you're paying really close attention, you can really figure out that that was Tara.

Yeah. And when I found out, which is a long time ago, that she was the voice of Bubbles, Raven and Omi, it just freaked me out. I was like is this even possible? I listened to those voices and I had no idea that she did all those voices that was increadible! (sp?)

Well, I can't say it's hard but acting a girl or a boy's voice. But the difficult part is, no one regonize(sp?) your voice. I've been acting these voices ever since I found out who she was.

I thought it was awesome that she did so much voice acting! and in shows I used to love! Once I learned Tommy (from rugrats) was a girl I started to thinkWho else plays a boy who's really a girl? and I recently started playing Final Fantasy X-2 and Rikku's voice sounds SOOO much like a slightly older version of Bubbles I was a little freaked out, lol. So I looked her up and here she is! It freaked out my friend that she did Timmy Turner even tho I kinda figured Timmy was a girl (what little boy has a voice like that? lol)

I thought het voice for Rikku in Final Fantasy X sounded kinda like her voice for Melody in Little Mermaid 2. But that's just me.

in Metal Gear Portable Ops(hope they release it to PS2 some day,but I think thats unlikely,but I dont want to buy a PSP just for that game),she voiced the twin sister16d0s Ursula and Elisa,Ursula is cold and has no feelings and Elisa is sweet and nice,she really sounded different(and I never thought I would see a game with Tara Strong,Steve Blum and David Hayter together,its like a dream),and what about Kaede Smith?Tara Strong with dirty mouth=win
