You're generous. IMO, 3/10
Re: Friends…
Sorry, but I love the programme, it's a fun show with some great memorable episodes.
David Schwimmer as Ross has played some great slapstick scenes, all the characters have a special place in my heart and such a funny show that I never tire of watching.

Re: Friends…
Ruse. I was speaking to someone about David Schwimmer and his clever work in the show and they really didn't understand me. I was trying to explain the many scenes where he plays slapstick perfectly, just a few come immediately to mind,
Joey pushes him off the back of the sofa and Ross literally does an upside down cartwheel off the sofa onto the floor, very clever and very effective.
The over the top acting during the Bamboozle episode.
The jump into Monica's arms copying the lift scene in Dirty Dancing, and at the crucial moment Monica moves away.
The re-vamp high school dance routine with Monica.
Stuck in a girlfriend's bathroom because he can't get his leather trousers to pull up.

Re: Friends…
The Routine is the best!
His dinosaur impressions were usually pretty spot on as well. He was hilarious, but I know a lot of people jumped on the Schwimmer hate train after Band Of Brothers, because he played suck a douchebag and was not funny at all.
Have you seen the movie Kissing A Fool?

Re: Friends…
I agree Jana. It's a great sitcom, and the cast had so much chemistry together.

The re-watchability factor if Friends is insane. I might have seen each episode dozens of times and still laugh like a maniac.

Yes so true, I have lost count the times I've seen the Thanksgiving episode when Rachel's sister Amy (Christina Applegate) joins them, discussing who will get Ross and Rachel's baby if they die. The dialogue in some of the episodes is quite brilliant.

Same here, I am a huge fan, have watched each episode at least 4, 5 times. Ross is my favourite character (as well)
Re: Friends…
That's great, I bet if we could actually perform one of the episodes, we know the script word for word .
Go Ross, yay!

Re: Friends…
Indeed, I think I know every line from the show
Re: Friends…
I really agree with you on David Schwimmer, Jana - he's a true slapstick great. What's amazing is how he pulls off not only the slapstick, but also the verbal humor and the more dramatic scenes perfectly. It's really quite impressive. The show in general is just about perfectly cast, but in my mind, the way that Schwimmer carries it all is special.
As far as the slapstick goes, this little roller-skate routine always stuck with me

I think Schwimmer could have made it in the silent era!

Couldn't have put it better, Overtsar.

Yes, his facial expressions speak volumes too.

Interesting, never knew that existed. I don't know if its existence was really necessary of even wanted but good to know I suppose.

I would say it's similarly bad as stuff like Two and a Half Men, just in a different way. Less vulgarly trashy and more pointless milquetoasty nothingness.
Re: Friends…
Friends is more tolerable and closer to funny than 2.5 Men imo.

Re: Friends…
You know, I actually used to hate that show in my early teens, largely just because of what it represented: canned laughter, formulaic plots, American commercialism, the "mainstream".
Watching it again in my twenties, I've found it surprisingly well written, well acted, and funny. A lot of the time the dialogue really sizzles. The characters are really easy to like and even grow attached to, which is what I find many TV shows are all about anyway, more so than than the laughs. All of this combined makes the show amazingly rewatchable.
Friends succeeds in creating a funny, benign and entertaining world of its own that is easy to slide into. Sure it's just a silly sitcom, but it's the kind of sitcom most sitcoms wish they could be.

I liked it quite a bit while it was still on but now unlike other sitcoms like Big Bang Theory, I really don't feel like revisiting it.and Two and a half men is utterly dire.

Re: Friends…
I think it's a fairly good show that got a bit too over-hyped back in its day. Likeable, well-written characters though and reasonably funny.
