Right now the Reddit page has 240 subscriptions, and by my count there are just about 60 FGers actively contributing there. And the best part no trolling. To be honest, it has the potential to be better than FG ever was.

That's all fine and I'm certainly not trying to tell you how to moderate the thing. The presence of a single user certainly wouldn't be enough to keep me off a potential alternative, but I'm just trying to decipher which would be the best option, while still trying to bide my time during the last days of these boards.

Phenix's "I'm so French" mock-pretentious persona is just funny and entertaining. Not the kind of thing that brought down the quality of our board here. And he's been well behaved so far.

I hardly ever hardcore trolled. Just went crazy one day and spammed the board. I don't really remember ever seriously attacking someone or anything. Just had to call out OldAle at times, because in my opinion I had legitimate reasons to do it.

I signed up for both. Clearly, imdb2 has the better layout. However, the reddit has more familiar faces from Film General. It seems logical to use imdb2 because it basically just feels like the original message boards. But it doesn't seem like that will happen because everyone has already settled on the Reddit one.

I am a member of both but I prefer the reddit and have been gravitating more towards it. Activity may be slightly higher on IMDB 2, but it is spread out across all those boards, whereas on the reddit it's all concentrated in one place, so it feels more active. The quality of discussion is just higher too, since it seems to be attracting the best users.
I think both can survive at the same time. I don't see them as being in competition. The reddit is sort of its own thing whereas IMDB 2 is in competition with all the other IMDB clones.

Subreddit Film General is better. More film talk, no trolling. What's not to like? As far as I'm concerned IMDb2 is just a place that the trolls have gravitated to. I won't miss them.

Nothing stopping anyone from using all of the options that have surfaced over the past week. I'm sure some will be better for different things.
