Ash vs Evil Dead is not scary. It plays up the campy horror comedy aspect, as enjoyable as it is.
Evil Dead reboot is a humorless, tight, taught and tense horror outing that is still better than the new Evil Dead Rise.

It's how I feel after watching the movie again after a couple of years. I'm entitled to feel that way. The movie doesn't hold up for me. I couldn't care less how anyone else feels unless they also felt the same way.

I didn't think so. I liked the family relationship more in Evil Dead than in Rise so that made it much more satisfying. And the way the demon was conjured made more sense and the deadites were scarier.
The family in Rise was annoying. And Rise, I didn't like how the demon behaved and the plot just seemed really fucking stupid and random and incohesive

I feel like the whole franchise was shye. Never appealed to me in the slightest.

Honestly, it's not scary anymore. Since then we got Ash vs Evil Dead which was way scarier and had better deadites.
So basically this movie is outdated.
