There is plenty of blame to go around, Donna. Next time you feel the urge to complain about Lilith posting movie trailers, consider the fact that her posts actually get some of us interested in checking those movies out. She is also interested in discussing those movies when people aren't slinging insults.
By the way, I was actually thinking that you are human when you made some interesting comments in the thread I made this morning. I agree. Astaire and Rogers were really the best dancing duo of old Hollywood. 👍
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.
Fasten Your Seatbelts….
It's Going To Be A Bumpy Night!

AnthonyRocks doesn't discuss movies. All he does is make polls.
Just insult some more people with your next call-outs.
Or mistreat some more animals.
That motivates to talk about movies. ☺

Re: There's nobody left to discuss movies with
the big noise this summer is Indy5. most criticism is about shifting the identity of the main character from him to a young woman. i think the "outrage" is fake and part of the hyper-politicizing of everything in our lives. i want to escape and be entertained during a movie so that is my standard of evaluation.
on the other hand, the premise of the movie kinda has a real-time application to filmmaking: what if we can use AI to (recreate) not only long dead actors/treses, but also to resurrect the flair and ingenuity of equally passed directors? The movie has a time-travel plot or time insertion plot; but with deep fakes and chatbot creation, the output is also temporal in that we can create joe biden shaking hands with Hitler, circa 1941.
as a movie fan, do you see any moral/ethical problems with allowing (present-day and far superior to previous CGI imaging) computer generated images, which are virtually indistinguishable from real living specimens, to take the place of actors? For example, you recently posted some hateful comments about "Notorious" and the lead, Cary Grant. I happen to think it is an excellent movie, precisely because of its pacing and subtle unfolding to the final scene where Alex is asked politely to return inside where his mother will most certainly not only order but personally oversee her now compromised son's murder.
I want to see a sequel. but the cast is dead as well as Hitch. let's unleash the power of AI and the machine learning to create a follow-up. i don't mean characters from a new sketchboard, i mean Boggie ans Ingrid and Claude brought back to big screen glory.( casablanca cast not Notorius, but i want a Casablanca sequel too)
Think of "Citizen Kane" and what Wells did in terms of framing and lighting and overall cinematography: what if his work gets digitized so every camera angle and movement becomes represented as formulas; and then that raw data becomes the input to AI director program? this wouldn't be a simpole copying job; the 'Bot would actually synthesize new camera shooting styles, using the past masters' as the learning curve.

what if we can use AI to (recreate) not only long dead actors/treses, but also to resurrect the flair and ingenuity of equally passed directors?Yes I do. It sends a bad message to society that being young is more appealing than getting older as well as trying to exploit dead artists.

Re: There's nobody left to discuss movies with
Not enough people and not enough movies in common.
What they will do is pick on member on here(Lilith) to have the burden of posting movie topics and then the rest will post within that member's thread as though they discuss movies even though the person (Lilith)that posted the movie topic, never actually watches most of the movies they are posting about.
