Re: Umm, what is the current position on killing ?
Season 1 - Killing is fine
Season 2 - Killing is not fine
Season 3 - Killing is not fine unless you're facing Ra's al Ghul
Season 4 - Killing is not fine unless you're facing Damien Darkh
Season 5 - Killing is fine sometimes but other times it's not and even though you just killed a bunch of people it doesn't mean others should be doing it too

That is very accurate.
Good job.
Good job.
Re: Umm, what is the current position on killing ?
I haven't watched the whole season, but I thought with Flashpoint resetting Arrow, Oliver was back to killing again in the beginning but then his recruits thought it was *beep* up so he stopped? Did he stop, or just stop killing everyone in sight?
Cena doesn't overcome any odds. He's a wrestler with a God Mode cheat on.
Re: Umm, what is the current position on killing ?
This one gave me a good chuckle. Bravo !
Re: Umm, what is the current position on killing ?
Flip a coin. Heads killing is bad, tails killing is fine
Re: Umm, what is the current position on killing ?
Green Arrow is now Two-Face.

Another gem. Gracias !
Re: Umm, what is the current position on killing ?
Killing is fine but murdering an unarmed subjugated person is not cool.

Beat me to it, somehow people don't seem to grasp that whilst murder is an act of killing someone, killing someone is not always an act of murder, just like how murdering someone by shooting them is not the same as murdering them by beating them to death with the butt of a hand gun.
Killing in self defence is acceptable at this time to Oliver, murdering people in cold blood not so much, hence killing the cronies who were shooting at them is acceptable but cold blooded revenge on a defenceless prisoner wasn't.

Re: Umm, what is the current position on killing ?
There was a time when Oliver refused to kill thugs even in self defence. He would aim for the legs or shoulders. By the same token, Diggle used tranqs instead of actual bullets. So there are better options than killing in self defence. In this episode Oliver shot to kill and so did Rene with his 2 guns. This is also why Oliver is to blame for Billy's death. His first instinct was shoot to kill.
Passing judgment to Tina after that felt incredibly hypocritical.

Re: Umm, what is the current position on killing ?
He didn't pass judgement he questioned her choices, and tired to get her to question her actions also, very different things, he didn't vilify her for killing the guy, as he said when she came to his office when she said she thought killing him would make things better or different I forget the exact words, Oliver said it doesn't work like that and he knows.
There is a difference to someone being a hypocrite and someone being the voice of reason/experience, you point out Oliver's kill first is why Billy is dead, at all did you think that's why Oliver is now taking the stance that being blinded with the need to kill maybe a mistake?
Yes Oliver in the past has made the choice to wound and not kill, which could also be the case for many of the goons in this episode, except for the helicopter iirc no one was shown taking an arrow to the eye or bullet to the head were they? But Oliver has also taken great losses for making those choices, had Oliver killed Dahrk when he had the chance then thousands of people including one of his best friends wouldn't be dead, but on the flip if he refrained from killing Billy wouldn't be dead now also.
I think the point is that there is no perfect answer killing cant be their default nor can they afford not to be willing to kill also, thinking it is black and white is impractical for their line of work unless they want to lose more friends.

Re: Umm, what is the current position on killing ?
Oliver wasn't just killing drug dealers. What about the Hub City civilians who stopped to rubberneck when they heard gunfire erupting on the roof that were killed when fiery helicopter debris fell on them?
Re: Umm, what is the current position on killing ?
Oliver himself killed a bunch of people in this episode. All the while, he was lecturing Bland Canary about not doing the same.
The only certain thing about killing on this show is that hypocrisy reigns supreme.

Re: Umm, what is the current position on killing ?
Oliver's official stance on killing seems to be "Killing is bad, unless I'm doing it." You know, Artemis was right.
Re: Umm, what is the current position on killing ?
The current position on killing is that there is no position.
Re: Umm, what is the current position on killing ?
Yeah it is really inconsistent.
Wild Dog's main weapon are two pistols and he has clearly killed people in fights before. And Oliver himself blows up a helicopter and murders several people and then moments later tries laying a guilt trip on Dinah not to shoot the evil cop killing, child drug dealer. Its really stupid.

Re: Umm, what is the current position on killing ?
It's all part of Ollie's new persona. Hypocrite Man! It's an odd storytelling choice when the hero of the show proves the traitor right. It's like in the Batman movies where Batman's totally against guns and killing, but puts giant cannons on the Batmobile.
Re: Umm, what is the current position on killing ?
Depends who the killer is.
Everyone can kill for "good reasons"
EXCEPT OLIVER. who is he, after all ?
Lance is a Saint
