NCIS : Is anyone else tired of Abby's look?

It's like Angus Young from AC/DC still dressing like a British schoolboy on stage when he's pushing 70. Abby's pushing 50 and the goth look makes her look silly now. She was hot in it once, but now it's a sad joke. Time to grow her up.

Abby has a fat pig face and if you look at her legs they are getting nasty even though the show probably touches her up to look younger.

Without TV magic, she would look like a 50 year old trailer park hag.

It's really disgusting when people say things like, "Time to grow up." Look the way you want to look. Your age is irrelevant.

Like a fat 50 year old teenage Bettie Boop after working in a whorehouse 20 years.

I think the writers need to be more professional in depicting an NCIS 'office' where there is only one (Abby) forensics agent working in the only lab (hers), seemingly for only one crew (Gibbs') that rotates with other crews 24/7 at that 'office'. Ducky and Palmer are in a similar scenario, although the morgue doesn't appear to be exclusively theirs.

If we and the writers themselves allow this to pass, we shouldn't be too hung up about Abby's idiosyncracies.

Pauley Perrette herself admitted in an interview that that look starts to make her look silly. But she sticks with it for the sake of a good cause. She discovered that the (childish) way Abby looks and acts (still) attracts young female audiences who take Abby as role model and want to step into her shoes with choosing a scientific field of study in college or university. She fears that if she lets Abby age and grow up naturally then Abby will lose this role model function for the young female audience. It seems that PP gets a lot of feedback from her fanbase and she said that as long as she gets to know that there are still young girls out there who discover Abby for the very first time and or choose a scientific subject because of her, she will stick to that look and behavior even if she makes a fool of herself while doing so.
This is why I have no problems to look past Abby's look and admire PP even more.

Yep, me too gabbyg, me too. Yes, PP is past 40 years of age, but she certainly doesn't look it, so it still fits her character and why she is so effective at drawing in young female viewers.

I had not read/heard that.

I have (and had) no issue with her apparel.
I still have a big issue with the infantile "Gibbs, Gibbs, Gibbs". Hubby and I both cringe, every time.
