Conan O'Brien : How does the audiance hear them

How does the audiance hear them

How does the audience hear Conan and his guest all the way in the crowed through that microphone do they have speakers in the seats or something..
They talk normal volume & sometimes really quiet.. and the audience is like 40 ft away..they don 1c84 t wear headphones and if it plays too loud through a speaker, you would hear it in microphone and echo..? Or is it some kind of Directional mic that only pics up whats really close it..still picks up their guests though and probably wear a wired mic also... idk I just always wondered how they hear them talking so quiet

Re: How does the audiance hear them

I attended as audience years ago and didn't have any problem hearing what he or he guest said. I guess there are mics everywhere on set.

Re: How does the audiance hear them

They read and lips and, failing that, clap and laugh like monkeys when the signs light up telling them to do so.

Re: How does the audiance hear them

The stage is a lot smaller than it looks on tv and the audience is only a few hundred people. The microphone on his stage is a prop and doesn't actually work. Their real microphones are pinned to their chest. Lastly, the show is on monitors and speakers all around the studio.
