Re: Can inflated prices go back down?
Only if you vote Bernie, then everything will be free.

Prolly not.

Ten-Bit Tree and the like will never go down with the current funny money. Things that people can't afford because of high interest rates can still go down, housing is due for a fall. The car market is already suffering.

Re: Can inflated prices go back down?
No. Deflation causes a whole different set of problems and is arguably even worse.
Re: Can inflated prices go back down?
So when prices go up they stay up?
Well, that sucks!

Re: Can inflated prices go back down?
Can inflated prices go back down?Yes, they can. Gas, for example, has come down a fair amount since last year.
Think of the situation in terms of the opposing forces of Supply and Demand. Prices have shot way up on a lot of things, but this has made most people think twice about buying stuff at these high prices, so they cut back: buy less, or better yet, don't buy at all. i.e., less Demand. Producers and retailers are left with excess inventory, i.e., more Supply. Solution? Cut prices, hopefully to attract more buyers. Also, slacking demand eventually trickles into layoffs and higher unemployment = even more slackening in demand, because most unemployed people aren't too keen on spending money. This is where it gets dicey, because the situation could snowball into deflation and depression. That's not a real desirable result.
Can inflated prices go back down?
Will I have to keep on paying 20 cents more for OJ and other grocery items that have gone up?
Let's go Brandon!
