Maybe another user already told you, but there is a fantastic website named: TheMovieDataBase. Here you can talk ANY movie or ANY tv show and the great thing is that the creators basically made this from the ground up. It only existed a few weeks ago but now there are thousands of new users and it's growing fast.
N.B. Some of the older films don't have much going on but patience is key! General boards aren't around yet but they are making a few.

I've had this account since August 2005. Would have been 12 years this year. I, too, have been active the entire time and almost every day. Whether just reading the boards or posting. I am very sad this is ending.

I actually created this account in September of 99.
However I made it using Lycos email.
When they shut down, I could log in and all but I could not change anything due to having no confirmation email address.
In 04 they made me change my password due to security reasons, however I couldn't because the email address did not exist anymore.
The best they could do was wipe my old Bladephyre account and let me remake it to keep the name.
For YEARS after they made it where you had to have 8 character and 1 number passwords I simply had a 5 letter no caps password because I was grandfathered in.
Somewhere there is a land of peace, acceptance, love, and equality. Pray they do not allow humans.

Found Film General almost right away. Especially active 2007-2009, was still a full regular for the next few years too, granted in a slow decline. Might not have been the biggest regular the last 3-4 years, but I usually check in at least once a day.

February 2007. 24th to be exact. So perhaps it is ever so bittersweet that this happens quite literally 10 years to the day after the fact, give or take a few days. I signed up while I was still in school, so it's rather bittersweet for me also in that respect.

My ID shows a creation date of 2007, but I was looking things up on IMDB when the URL was on a server at Mississippi State University in 1995. So there was probably an ID lost in the mists of time that predates this one.
