House of the Dragon : Will there be any more time jumps?
Re: Will there be any more time jumps?
GRRM agrees, he said the first season should have 167 episodes and take 15 years to finish writing, covering only the events leading up to Rhaenyras deflowering, which would make a good 7 episode special.

Re: Will there be any more time jumps?
I've heard that season 2 will actually jump ahead 150 years to The Mad King. The story you saw is over, now a new story is being told. It was so thrilling to see the Dance of Dragons on screen. Now I can't wait to see how they handle the Defiance of Duskendale.
Re: Will there be any more time jumps?
I wouldn't mind seeing Barristan Selmy at his best. Throw in the war of the nine penny kings with barry slaying Maelys Blackfyre in single combat and i'm sold.

Re: Will there be any more time jumps?
The Blackfyre Rebellions + Ninepenny Kings and Bloodraven is the show I'm most looking forward to seeing (if they ever make one). I'm wondering if they'll just incorporate that into the Dunk & Egg tv series that's in the works, but probably not since they're spending an entire season on just the first novella alone… seems like they'll spend quite a while with the younger versions of the characters.
Re: Will there be any more time jumps?
Who would play Barristan the Bold in his prime?

Re: Will there be any more time jumps?
Easiest way to cast a younger Barristan is to look for someone who vaguely looks like a younger Ian McElhinney.
My vote is for Jack O'Connell. He's still in his 30's, he's got a similar mouth, ears, brow ridge, jaw, and he's a solid underrated actor who's done some very physical roles in the past. Maybe a tad too short for the role but if Tom Hardy can play Bane then I'm sure Jack O'Connell would be fine playing Barristan the Bold. He's got range and he's got the screen presence required for the part.

Re: Will there be any more time jumps?
I don't think Barriston was really that big a guy. Not familiar with this dude but from the pics you posted I can see it. Love to see it, I find that history with the Blackfyres to be the most interesting of all the GOT lore.

Re: Will there be any more time jumps?
Yeah he's a good actor and has this very weathered look, like he's seen some shit. Which is fitting since Barristan is as much a war veteran as he is a great knight.

He's mostly played soldiers, UFC fighters, prison inmates. He's done a variety of stuff.
Same. Would Aegon's Conquest or anything else make for a good show/story? I keep seeing people asking for that but it doesn't sound too interesting to me. I feel it would be predictable. HBO's ideas for the other spinoffs sounds pretty retarded.
- A Fleabottom show
- The Sea Snake (A spinoff for Corlys Velaryon)
- Ten Thousand Ships (A Nymeria prequel)
The Dunk & Egg series is the only one I'm interested in. Not too interested in the Snow sequel.

Re: Will there be any more time jumps?
A show about Aegons Conquest has little appeal for me, very boring. A show about Corlys seems like the kind of franchise killing shit that Disney+ is doing with shitshows for Marvel like She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel now, or all the Star Wars content they are shitting out that I also have no interest in. Corlys has already been cancelled, so there's that.
Ten-Thousand Ships may be okay, but it's so far removed from the Targaryen era that I really don't care. Almost like some generic shit that doesn't really matter. Think it's been cancelled too.
Don't know anything about fleabottom show, but sounds horrible. Why? No thanks. But doesn't matter, since apparently only D&E is still on the table from what's listed, other than the Snow show which is absolutely going to happen. I want the Blackfyre shit, and I want it now. Hope they don't actually try making them black, too.

I will keep an open mind for any show until I see it. I was 100% sure HOTD was going to suck and hard, so I was quite surprised that I find it GOT season1-4 level good, maybe better.

Re: Will there be any more time jumps?
Yeah the only thing that even vaguely interests me about an Aegon I show is moreso the Sons of the Dragon and the story about how Maegor fought the Faith Militant, but even then I wouldn't necessarily care to watch that. I think the Blackfyre era has way more interesting stuff going on and better characters. I'd love to see a young Bloodraven.
I haven't heard about the Corlys show being cancelled, nor have I heard about the Nymeria prequel being cancelled. In fact after googling it the only news I could find was that the Fleabottom show was cancelled
and that they're moving ahead with an animated series set in Yi Ti. Oh and The Long Night prequel show they were working on years ago with Naomi Watts was the first one to be cancelled, so I find it funny and somewhat reassuring that they're not just greenlighting every single thing. It looks like they're trying to take a quality over quantity approach, which I hope they stick with.
The next series that we're getting appears to be Dunk & Egg (the series will probably be called The Hedge Knight). They've gotten the showrunner of Patriot to helm the series… Patriot is a really good series so this is promising. I could see it becoming the best show in this franchise if it has the same writers and creative team behind Patriot. They're very good at handling humor, visual storytelling, brevity, pacing, style, cinematography and the acting on that show was incredible.

Would Aegon's Conquest or anything else make for a good show/storyWould Aegon even last that long as king? Didn’t seem fit and he wasn’t about that life
