I agree. The characters reactions to things were in the context of if they sequels happened, which they didn’t.
For instance, why was the whole town bent on seeing his body mutilated by the shredder? To the townsfolk, he’s a human serial killer. They don’t know he’s potentially superhuman or supernatural.

The procession to the chipper/shredder made me laugh. It was so hokey and cheesy. It reminded me of "Evil dies tonight!"
I do think the town knows he's not human at this point. He was shot six times in the original and in this timeline mowed through large groups of people in Kills (firefighters and the mob) and that was AFTER escaping being set on fire.

I still haven't seen "HALLOWEEN ENDS" yet.
I have however heard that in the Movie, they actually pull almost the same kind of twist that they had in "FRIDAY THE 13th: PART V - A NEW BEGINNING" in which the Killer was actually really an Imposter wearing the mask.
If that is indeed true then I will probably just pass on seeing the Movie.

Michael killed his sister when Laurie was an infant. The townsfolk in this one, including her grand daughter, inexplicably want to blame Laurie for "provoking" Michael.
She did no such thing. She was an infant when he made his first kill and had absolutely nothing to do with when he broke out of a mental facility. Twice. It was a poorly written plot point.

Another thing that didn't work
Michael killed his sister Judith when she (Laurie) was an infant. Unprovoked. He then proceeded to escape custody twice: once in the original and once in 2018. He continued to kill innocent people. Laurie agitated him. LOL, what? This is some Daniel is the real bully level nonsense.
Then her grand daughter gets in on the act and proceeds to fall for a guy wants to "burn it all down"? After personally fighting a mass murderer? Terrible writing!
