The Soapbox : Christina’s cry for help
Re: Christina’s cry for help
Christina has schizophrenia. She doesn't have the same filter or sense of boundary that most others have. She is a gentle soul and she is sharing what gives her pleasure and what she enjoys. She just expresses what she is thinking at the time and then moves onto the next thing.
Christina is sweet natured and creative and is a darn sight better than those creeps Rocks and luke, who can't filter their sexual perversions.
Norman! What did you put in my tea?

Re: Christina’s cry for help
Okay. But her threads about eating 7 cheese burgers are disgusting and self sabotaging. There’s nothing sweet about killing yourself with that **** while you’re a diabetic and flaunting that fact.

Re: Christina’s cry for help
Her diet sounds scrumptious to me, albeit I would go vegetarian style.

Re: Christina’s cry for help
Are you a doctor? Have you lived with her? Have you heard anyone in her family's side of the story?
Re: Christina’s cry for help
No, but I don't need to. I have my own insight and instinct.
What is it you would like to hear from them?

Re: Christina’s cry for help
I think they would have plenty more insight than you do.
Re: Christina’s cry for help
Since they are not here to give that insight, what is the point you are trying to make?

Re: Christina’s cry for help
That there are at least two sides of the story. We only ever hear hers.
Re: Christina’s cry for help
Well, since you aren't going to hear any other, and since you will be aware she has mental health issues, you will just have to play by what you hear.

Re: Christina’s cry for help
I think she's playing some of you like a fiddle. She gets told constantly about her junk food diet, then turns right around and posts about buying more junk food, as if throwing it in your face. That shows that she knows what she's doing.
Re: Christina’s cry for help
She doesn't see it as throwing it in our faces, doofus! She has a serious mental illness and it is not her intention to try and undermine others. That is what you do and think everyone else does the same.
She will have a notion about something, and because she can't filter the information as well as others with nuance or insight, she just comments on it to share what she is experiencing or what she is questioning about herself at the time. She can't help but be self-absorbed.
You are not going to EVER get any rational sense out of Christina. She is not an argumentative person either.

I didn't know you lived in her head.

I didn't know you lived outside your heart.

I don't, but I'm not an enabler either.

Re: Christina’s cry for help
I mostly ignore her. I saw a couple topics she started that were kind of interesting or funny. I remember her doing this same schtick way back on the old boards. I don't think its a cry for help. I doubt she cares or wants help. Just very mentally ill.

It would be a therapy for her to express her thoughts as well, in the only way she knows how.

Re: Christina’s cry for help
There are people who are familiar with her Facebook account and read what her family has posted and have more information to go by than the majority of posters reading just what she writes here. There are people who have spoken with her family.
The people here who encourage and enable her might as well hand her a razor blade because she's engaging in self-harm and is on a path to killing herself. She posts pictures of her food, or YT videos of her eating. There's more than just filmboards to go by.
If anyone finds my post offensive, so be it, but I flatly refuse to indulge her. She's an adult and she should not be infantilized, fetishized, or enabled.
Am I missing something? I could be missing something. I often miss things.

Re: Christina’s cry for help
We are not rescuers. This is a chatboard. She is not going to listen to other's advise either. If she gets joy from something, I say let her if she wants to share it.
You won't be changing anything.

Re: Christina’s cry for help
No, we're not rescuers. But people using her schizophrenia, or what amounts to her version of mukbangs while she has diabetes and high cholesterol, and make that choice to actively egg her on, encourage her, and enable her aren't doing her any favours. Feeding the delusions of someone with schizophrenia is, clinically, the exact opposite of what helps them.

Re: Christina’s cry for help
Christina doesn’t recognise her delusions. She only expresses what she is feeling in the moment. That is the impression I get.
She will do what she wants too, regardless of what she is told.

Re: Christina’s cry for help
It's a tragedy. She's going to die soon, it should be preventable, but there is nothing anyone can do to stop it.
