Even though I can recognize her as pretty in some of those shots, she still don't pique my libido. B&W photography can enhance anyone with the right shade of light too. Its how one wears their hair too and for women, the shade of make-up and application.

I think she comes across as quite sweet, maybe even a little innocent, in the second pic, with her smiling. She would have been in her late 20s then.
Though, "handsome" is an apt description for JC in her middle years. She had a hard childhood and grew into a hard, stoic woman. She was disciplined to an unwholesome degree and tried to force her ways onto her children, especially the two older ones.
