Almost all John Hughes movies are worth seeing. This is one of his best and one of the best comedies ever made.

Just like everyone else he has hits and misses and this one is a miss.

The scene in the police station with Jennifer Grey and Charlie Sheen is especially good.

Nah. There's nothing wrong with disliking a popular movie that everyone else likes. Too many movie fans get upset and take it personally if you criticize a movie they love. I don't get that attitude.

I don't like Nolan's Batman movies. They take themselves too seriously. I also think Karate Kid is mediocre and Daniel is a total wussbag. I think Back to the Future is schmaltzy and manipulative ie the "this is your cousin *Marvin* Berry" scene, cringe.

But I respect others who do love these movies and can see why they love them so much and the memories they have attached to them, and I leave it at that.

When Marvin calls his cuz Chuck Berry and holds up the phone for Chuck to hear Marty, the song is well underway and way past the intro so just how in the heck did Chuck figure out the intro note for note and the rest of the song and lyrics up to that point?

Agreed. I used to like having a discussion with someone over a movie I don't like much and point out the flaws, but some start getting upset and agitated, I know now to just bug out and leave it. In the past I was amazed at how out of hand things could get over a movie debate, it's not worth it.

Yeah, exactly, he missed the intro - most important part, and how much could you hear over a 1950s quality phone standing backstage? probably jack shit even if he stuck the phone right next to Mcfly.

I dunno how you feel about the Cloony Batman but I don't understand why that one gets ragged on so bad as it does when it was made and fits in with the Batty series of that time of being more camp and comic book like.
Frankly, I like that version.

Yeah, the bale batman voice. I remember a fan review when TDK came out saying it was like Bale was "gargling Michael Keaton's balls".

I don't think I ever saw the Clooney Batman, maybe once on rental vhs but can't remember a single thing from it. I think Batman Forever had the right idea in lightening things up, and Joel Schumacher is a great director and Val Kilmer was great too, it just had a weak script and the visuals were too dizzying. I'm a fan of Batman 89, that was great.
