Someone mentioned on another forum that JC (the admin of 2.0) closed the site to new members. But he's also been on a tear the last year, banning people right and left. He's become kind of a jackass.

I couldn't have. I never got past the initial login after being approved. Then I tried to make different accounts thinking I might have forgotten something or done something wrong with the original one. After a few attempts at trying different things, I'd get that "You have been banned" when I'd go onto the login page. I just figured they thought i was trying to create multiple sock accounts to mess with people.
