The Haves and the Have Nots : Benny telling Mitch he was "too old" to start over…..

LOL! Veronica told Maggie last season that he was only TWENTY-THREE. That's not too old Benny. Shaking my damn head. You have so many years to pick yourself back up. Look at your mother. She's fifty and should be the one saying that, not your barely-adult ass. Did Tyler forget this little age establishment? Still find it hard to believe he made Benny THAT young. The man looks ten years older.

True! And the first season it indicated that he was older like Wyatts age and Candice was more like Amanda's age and the younger sister but last season it hinted that Benny was younger. So who's older and how old are the children? The parents are 50 which was told during season 3. Tyler doesnt think we loyal viewers notice the little mixups but we do.

I also know that if Tyler doesn't jump a year ahead (like soaps do) instead of picking up each season as the next day these actors are going to start aging and their pretend ages will no longer be realistic to the show.

Exactly. And with Mitch being on probation he has to do better but he got arrested. I'm 23, Benny's supposed age, and pursuing a post-grad degree. It is never too late. Of course I started at the typical age but I didn't have too. Hell people typically graduate at 21 or 22 so it isn't that hard. I had people Hannah's age in my undergrad classes and older so for Benny to say that was dump. But with how brain dead Benny is it's to be expected. Benny sure does look like he is in his early 30's. It isn't believable. A lot of the younger people look at least late 20's and with Candice having to be older than him there is no way he is 23. At 23 it isn't that hard to start over. If Hannah can, Benny sure as hell can. Benny needs to stop waiting for Candice like he's waiting for a deadbeat dad to show and get up off his ass and do something.

There were so many things wrong with the entire dialogue starting with:

Benny's constant tantrums. He was literally having a temper tantrum right in front of Mitch. And he always has them. I half expected Mitch's huge ass to pick him up and sit him on his lap. Like that's how odd the conversation was. Mitch was just like "it is what it is" and Benny just keeps on pouting.

The "I'm too old" was just self explanatory and stupid.

The most glaring issue was: Candice bought it all! He acts like he earned it. His mother told him not to take any of it and he didn't listen. Now he's bitching and moaning at Candice and Hannah when it's all his fault.

Even now he's still acting like Candice better fix it because he paid for the house. It was given to him.

He's really irritating. I kinda wish they had let him die in that coma. By far the worst character on the show and adds nothing. He's been spitting the same lines since his first appearance.

Lol..I know right he was like a 5 year old in this scene. Mitch just looking like "you big ass baby..man up". Little Quincy act more mature than his uncle.

Either Benny or Jeffery needs to be killed off the show eventually. They wont kill of Candice off and they have already killed off Amanda and almost Wyatt. Why does Katheryn have to lose her children and not Hannah or Veronica! Not fair!

Also, the children on the show are super annoying starting with Wyatt, Candice, Benny and Jeffery and in that order.

Well Veronica only has Jeffrey. I think it's unfair to kill off a person's only child and Jeffrey isn't that wild for anyone to want to see dead. He deserves to live a lot more than some characters I'd like to see bite the bucket. Benny is annoying as hell, but he deserves to live. He's not quite sadistic like his terror of a half-sister.

I second Benny and the order but not Jeffrey. Benny has already been almost killed off and Jeffrey has a pretty good plot going so not him.I could definitely see them almost killing Jeffrey off which I thing will and should happen but with the way the plot is going I think it will be David or he will come close to death maybe so the Harrington's will at least have known what it feels like to almost lose someone. Wyatt should be the one to be killed off if he doesn't clean his act up. He could have easily been gone with the drug overdose story because they had to be the most incompetent police department to not know he was still alive. Unless he actually makes up his mind to get sober and be good to Jeffrey he doesn't really have a purpose anymore. TP intended to kill Benny off(He said this on the after show a couple of seasons ago) but kept him on because supposedly Benny has a big fan base. I find it really sad that Katherine seems to be the only targeted for losing her children and none of the black families. I'm not saying it's a race thing at all I just find it strange as well. Wyatt is definitely the most annoying but if I had to choose between him and his sister I would choose Amanda because at least she provided comic relief lol.

I don't think any of the adult children are going to get killed off because they all have a storylinewell expect Wyatt. Now I do kinda think now lil Q, Candace's son will eventually get axed because there aren't any kids on the show in generally and we don't see him offenI think bring Candace's long lost son back was a stupid plot since the boy isnt featured in much of anything besides the funds between Candace and Hanna..besides the Youngs, Veronica and Jeffrey, Quitano one knows about the kid.


Also from the beginning, it was put out there like Benny was older than Candace. Between the first two seasons..it is concluded that Candace is 22 herself..she had her son at 17 and he is supposed to be five

We are all light compared to something, at least not the ones who are lighter than light like let's say the Irish. But Benny is surely your average light-skinned black guy who can be called such. He's certainly lighter than a lot of the black people we see on the show. The person could have said black but that wasn't really necessary because it's clear Benny is black and anyone reading the comment could easily tell he meant light in regards to Benny's blackness. Not to imply he was white or something. For you to complain about that shows you're overthinking this.

This is Tyler's sloppy writing. It was implied that Benny is older in the beginning. Now it seems to have switched and Candace is older. Veronica said Benny is 23 and Oscar said Candace is 26. Hannah is 50 and said she had both of her kids by the time she was 20 which is impossible if the ages we've been given are true.

Yes, and the whole age issue with Hanna and the kids is something I pointed out months ago in a thread topic. Ridiculous. People need to pay attention to what they establish in their shows. I hate it when plot holes like this are made.
