Politics : Will Donald Trump face Any Major Opposition for the 2024 Republican Nomination ?

There is Absolutely ZERO Doubt in my mind that Donald Trump is going to Run for President again in 2024 (I will be stunned if he doesn't).

When he does, Does anybody here think that Trump will face any Major Opposition for the 2024 Republican Presidential Nomination ?


I myself definitely don't think so.

Honestly, I would be very surprised if any Republicans actually tried to challenge him for the 2024 Republican Presidential Nomination.

I know that there have been people that have said that Mike Pence and Ron DeSantis (if they choose to Run for President in 2024) would be Major Contenders for the 2024 Republican Presidential Nomination. However, If Trump does run again then I definitely don't think that Pence and DeSantis will. I think that both Pence and DeSantis would wait until 2028 when Trump can't run again (if Trump wins the 2024 Election and I definitely think that he will if his Democratic Opponent is either Joe Biden or Kamala Harris).

When it comes to the 2024 Republican Presidential Nomination itself though, There is Absolutely No Way, No Chance at all that Trump won't win it.

He won't run if he can't assert his 2020 win. He'll know better if he can't.

Good question. If the RNC does put him on the ticket, it could alienate too many moderate voters. At the same time, there's no real strong alternate. The party is fractured and will probably remain so through at least the next election cycle. So we are likely going to see President Harris in '28.

He could face a more moderate challenger like John Kasich but it is highly unlikely that a DeSantis or a Pence would run against him. Just to challenge Trump would damage their reputation among the Trump base, which makes up the majority of the Republican party, and would make them unelectable. DeSantis is young and has many other opportunities to run.
