The Soapbox : Are we currently experiencing the death of message boards as we know them?

Filmboards has largely slowed to a crawl these past few weeks. v2 doesn't appear to be as active as it once was, though I'll admit I only ever look at the animation/anime and sports boards over there. Even Jack's board has slowed down quite a bit.

This is likely the result of that bastard Gameboy deciding to pull some sort of rapture and allow a chosen few to ascend into his heavenly bathroom stall. I must say it's pretty hard to hide my actual disappointment in those ******* and ***** who decided to join him over there whilst leaving me behind as if I'm some lower lifeform who doesn't belong in the holy embrace of Gameboy's gloriously prolapsed ass hole. I belong there, damn it. I'm gay too, damn it! I just want to be loved, damn it!!!

I will not remain here among the scum of internet forums. I will not continue living my life in this disease-ridden sewer. I will be free from this Hell.

However, the fact remains that I am one of those deemed not worthy. It is apparent that my behavior has done nothing to ingratiate myself with God's Chosen People. I have been blamed for a lot of the misfortunes on these forums. A lot of people will point to me as the reason folks like Lilith and Pinky and Monicah and Klam and Sophie and Geewizzz decided to find somewhere less toxic to post. And they would be right… partially. They left because they are non-hackers who are unfit to coexist with me in any form. They couldn't take my power. *coughs like a girl because he still has the 'Vid*

So, with this in mind, I have decided to extend an olive branch. My olive branch, to be specific. I offer it to those who feel that I'm too vile, too evil, too disgusting to continue living on a forum that they themselves also populate. I am aware of how I come off sometimes. I know that I can be quite an unforgiving cock, and that I might be a little too hard on you guys. It's only fair for you people to hate me for my roughness. I will try to be a little softer going forward. And, if any of you take issue with my behavior and feel the need to voice your displeasure at my hardness, then I will promptly reconsider how I choose to insert myself into your lives. *they're getting kinda forced now, aren't they?*

I know I cannot change the past, but I at least hope I can make a better future. Not only for all of us but for our children as well.

I've experienced that with both boards. I load a second page here on General Discussion most of the time in the morning when I have to catch up the most. Page 2 has been getting smaller and sometimes unnecessary lately. Facebook is attracting fewer people also it seems.

What do you consider a crawl? A thread about mental illness movies has over 300 replies. One of my recent threads had over 150 replies. Even a thread about Madonna's ass has almost 50 replies. Not too crawly.

I don't think anyone went there because of you. (If you and Gameboy weren't getting along, then he probably excluded you from the invitee list. I'm surprised you want him to know how that made you feel.) Some people just like being invited to a new board. They want to feel like they're in an exclusive club. If a lot of people from this board are on that board, then the posters there will realize it's basically just filmboards II, and they'll reach the conclusion that they should just come back to the real filmboards.

Don't be such a Dickie Downer. They'll realize it makes no sense to be on filmboards II when they could be on THE filmboards.

New users will show up too, and they will stick around, as long as nobody "recruits" them for another board (although it looks like Cornell was snatched up from this site pretty quickly….she didn't even have time to take off her shoes before someone grabbed her and pulled her away from us).

Fact: The whole reason Gameboy started his board was to make a board where Rocketman wasn't invited. Anyone who uses it makes their side known. They are an enemy of Rocketman, and an enemy of mine. 🔪

I wonder if Gameboy posted a "Don't invite these people" list or if everyone just knew he wouldn't let Rocket in, so they didn't invite him.
