Thought they looked very different - but I have thought the same thing with other movie characters when others thought they looked very different as well.

you think you were confused who was who in this one.... go watch the Korean film it was based off of. Those dudes were quite similar too.
I'm guessing it was all sorta intentional. Basically, the 2 leads are mirror images of each other, one good and one bad, and on the surface, they appear opposite of what they actually are.

Hong Kong film, not Korean. And the two actors chosen, young and older, don't look alike.

On the first viewing, I definitely struggled at first. It took until Dicaprio was in the office talking to his superiors before they send him off to prison.
2nd viewing I didn't have any problems though.

Thought the 3 of them looked the same in the late 90s. Never would have guessed we'd get a dream cast of Leo, Matt and Marky Mark in a Scorcese film with Jack Nicholson.

Leo and Mark were even in The Basketball Diaries, 10 years earlier. I think Leonardo should've won an Oscar for that performance alone.

Leo looks more that actor who was in Valerian and A Cure for Wellness than Matt. Now Mark Wahlberg, he looks like Matt…
