I'm really excited for this movie and I love that the Justice Society is in it, but it's Dr. Fate that I'm most excited to see. Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate is very exciting

Egyptians were white people, not black people.

In addition, these character have been around since the 40s. People could draw hawkman from memory and if you fuck with that, it's a bad idea.

McDonalds could change their logo to a big fish tomorrow and still serve the same product and get customers but it would hurt them in the long run. People expect the giant M and red and yellow colors. They like it a lot. A big fish with purple and black colors would not make people happy because they don't associate it with McDonalds.

Egypt is in Africa and as such, Egyptians are of darker skin tone. This was one of the criticisms leveled at Gods of Egypt a couple years back. The cast was too white.

Also, for 90% of the characters, race is irrelevant. You can race flip almost any of these characters and it wouldn't matter.

If you looking at ancient art from Egypt from 5,000 BC, the statues are white people. I was in the Louvre in France standing right there looking at them.

I was right by this statue from 2000 BC.

Black people weren't really in that part of Africa much.

Egypt is basically in the same type of area as Greece.

Also the Sumerians who were there before Egyptians had blue eyed statues and whatnot.

All of the people in the mideast were part of the Aryan migration. They came from eastern Europe, moved west to Europe while another group moved down through India and then up into the mideast.

Many of the languages are similar and the gods and so on are just like all the ones from Europe.

Blacks in Egypt came much later and are like blacks in America. Philadelphia is a largely black city but that doesn't mean they founded it or America.

The blacks started Egypt thing is a low self-esteem black thing where they want to imagine they had some great civilization. Egypt was actually a weird and stupid civilization, so they lose again.
