Chris Tucker : why so few movies?

this guy is the best. he should do more. i don't see why he doesn't take more roles.

Dude is a genius. I read an interview with him once, When he used to do standup he would do short but great bits, to keep the audience wanting more. so my guess is he still has the same mentality. He does so few movies that when he does do a new one, everyone wants to go see it. Plus he made 20 mill off Rush hour II and 40 mill off a 2 movie deal including rush hour III. So hes got a *beep* load of money, maybe he just wants to chill out. I know he is big into religion. Pretty sure he devotes a lot of his time to charities and helping people. Good dude, and hilarious, probably my favorite comedian. His next role is due though i'm anxiously awaiting

That's not the point. There you go making money an issue as to why stop doing what you love. He's an actor bc he likes to act, money is a benefit of that. Why do you see so many old people volunteering and what not? Because they enjoy, it has nothing to do with money.

Because he's fat now. The guy loves to eat.

He makes his living doing stand up comedy apparantly. The films he does is a bonus i guess

i saw him live at a local comedy club and he was asked this question and he said he would rather wait to get paid alot of money for a few movies then getting paid alot less to do tons of films. Thats from his mouth.
its funny though. it was at a comedy show and it turned out to be more of a Q n A show. He kept asking us what people wanted to know about him. The question asked the most was about michael jackson

If I had as much money as him I'd do a few movies too! lol, I'd also eat like him too. I'm not gonna fault him for gaining a little weight, he's enjoying his money, what else is he supposed to do?

It could be a case of most of the scripts he's getting being pure garbage and not worth his time. Have you seen some of the crap Eddie Murphy has done in the last 10 years? He would have better off waiting for good quality material than getting the reputation for making crappy movies. I am very hesitant to buy a ticket for Murphy's movies because some of them are so bad. And that's a bad thing because there have been a few that were not genius but made me laugh. Sometimes it's better to wait for the right thing; maybe that's Tucker's plan.

Geez, I think this is the first thing that comes to people's minds when seeing his IMDB page. Only 12 movie roles in 20 years? Why the hell do I know this guy's name so well, lol. Any other actor of his popularity has amassed like 50 major roles by now.

I like it, though. Quality over quantity. I will never forget his bit in the Fifth Element. Craziest comedy character I've ever seen.

Sounds like a pretty good plan to me. However, it does make you wonder what kind of things Hollywood writers are writing for African American actors. It's 2009, soon to be 2010. Haven't we evolved just a tad from the stereotypes? Guess not.
