Film Art and Cinematography : Do You Ever Pause a Movie.. to Imagine?

It's rare, but I love to do it.. Create my own scenes, perhaps future scenes (and then seeing how it actually plays out).. Usually inserting myself and editing it to expand the imagination. Sometimes I'll wonder about a remake, and how it would be made modern.

No. If my mind wanders, I skip back to where I left off. I don't want to be distracted like that. You have to discipline your mind and thoughts. Don't let you mind take over and you go into another word. You will never remember what you inagined anyway. Usually.

If you're trying to create scenes that way, it's not really creative. It's actually imitation which okay up to a point.

Interesting idea. I never do it on purpose, but when it happens I often imagine the protagonist sticking up to the antagonist in ways the former would never do. Sometimes because I find the protagonist to be too much of a wuss, sometimes just to see the surprised face of the antagonist. :)

This happens more often with books than with movies for me, though.

I hear ya..

I think I'm the same with a book. But sometimes I pause so I can look up a reference so the entire thing makes sense (I'm always reading non-fiction).

Hello

I only do that with books. It allows your mind to go crazy with imagination not having a visual influance. As for movies I do rewind and watch favorite scenes or look up clips on Youtube. Some things touch you enough and make a lasting impression.

Yes. You can imagine who you want to play the parts. If it is non fiction the image of the real person kind of gets in the way lol

I always like to imagine myself with a non-fiction historical figure.. Say if I got stuck in an elevator with Hillary Clinton for 5 hours.
