I took care of her for 12 years. Then I had a 1 year break.
But when Covid happened I took out of the nursing home March 8th to protect her from dying.
Been with me since. She had a Stroke. She had to relearn to do everything

The Jacob Javits Center was converted and had 20,000 available beds. Plus the Trump administration sent a Naval ship that supplied another 10,000 beds.
Altogether there were 30,000 beds available and Cuomo used none of them . Instead he let patients infected with Covid go back to their nursing homes and infect all the other healthy elderly people. They say 6500 Senior citizens were killed because of this policy.

I'm still in disbelief. Cuomo really did that? He denied sick residents access to that Comfort ship? He said that patients who weren't positive for covid-19 like heart attacks, motor vehicle accidents and so forth. People were to be sent there for emergency treatment in order to keep them from catching covid-19 from the ones sick at hospitals and medical clinics. It seemed like a good plan.

The nursing home directive was March 25. Javits and Comfort weren't available until a couple weeks later. They also were for people who needed hospital beds, not for people who had nowhere to go while recovering from Covid. But I don't know why another location wasn't set up for recovering nursing home patients to go.
Also, not all of the 6500 were infected from other nursing home residents. Some were infected by nursing home employees who didn't know they were infected.

I know you have been doing it for many years as well. In my case I also have to deal with my Mom's constant mania. The mental issues in many ways are more difficult than her serious disabilities.

I think a lot on NY residents felt terrorized by the pandemic. The subway is eerily vacant. Underground still dangerous too like before the pandemic. I still got stalked. I dunno if those guys were protecting me or not. I just felt a little uncomfortable.
