Diane Lane : Many beautiful women don't age well…

But Diane is one of the exceptions! :) She looked absolutely gorgeous and was very sensual-looking in her late teens/early 20s, and she still looks attractive. I'm not saying that she hasn't aged (of course she has), but she still has that sweet smile and beautiful eyes. She also had a beautiful body, and she still appears to be relatively fit-looking.

I know she's been through a lot of hard times in her life, but I hope she has found "peace" with herself. I wish her all the best!

She doesn't look her best in MAN OF STEEL as she is wearing 'old age' make-up. Check out some of her other movies to see how she really looks like 'Unfaithful', 'Under Tuscan Sun', 'Big Town', 'Vital Signs' and 'Streets of Fire'. Yes, a great looking woman. And so talented too. :)

I think they deliberately made her look plain and older in this movie. After all, she was suppose to be the mother of a 35 yo son.

It's too bad Hollywood keeps casting her in roles too old for her, like as 50+ mothers of twentysomethings.

She's 50. What's hard to believe about her being the mother of a twentysomething? If the twentysomething is 20 years old, that means she had him at age 30. If the twentysomething is 29 years old then she had him at age 21. So I'm confused about why you're confused by this.

I didn't say it was hard to believe, but in roles like Ma Kent, she is clearly playing someone older than 50 or at least someone homely.
