Twin Peaks : David Lynch Reveals What It Would Take For Twin Peaks To Continue …
Re: David Lynch Reveals What It Would Take For Twin Peaks To Continue ..
Hopefully the fan base has swelled up over the years and they'll be massive support for future projects.
I'm just happy to be getting what we're getting for the moment. But it goes without saying I'd crave more since Lynch himself is interested.
Here's hoping.

It's impossible to say whether any additional episodes would be desirable, as these haven't even aired. However, I wouldn't support any more unless Lynch directed it. To change that would be ridiculous.

Honestly I have met some fans of Twin Peaks who have no idea the show is coming back.
There is barely any marketing at all for this show. This show cannot survive on die hards alone. If it could have, it would have survived in the 90s.
They need to market the damn show. This whole meta youtube clips isn't doing anything.
I am afraid, truly afraid, there gonna end the season on a cliffhanger and ratings will be mediocre or poor and we're back where we were at the start.
I hope I am wrong, but even POS shows have good marketing.

Lynch wants to keep the mystery alive, which is refreshing in an era where a lot of things are spoiled by so much footage & teasers being released. I am sure that once the air date gets closer, we will see more advertisements. Stop worrying.

pretty much what I was thinking.. info. spreads like a virus these days.. when Lynch feels it's time, he'll lower the drawbridge.. you don't need 3.5 months of promotion to ensure viewership

This isn't 1991 where a bad time slot and missing an episode when it airs live means you'll be screwed. This show is returning on cable, will immediately have several more episodes available online following the premiere, and will create huge instantaneous buzz.
For those under a rock who don't realize it's happening, they certainly will on May 31 - and will be up until the wee hours watching 3 episodes in a row!

I would expect that Showtime will ramp up the promos in the next few months. In doing so they will eventually have to show some new footage. It should be possible to do that without spoiling too much.
David Lynch Reveals What It Would Take For Twin Peaks To Continue …
Sherilyn Fenn discussed Twin Peaks upcoming Showtime return in a new interview with Twin Peaks Unwrapped. Fenn paraphrased what co-creator David Lynch told her about the future of the show beyond its 2017 comeback season. Alternative Nation transcribed her comments. Also remember to check out Twin Peaks Worldwide and Obnoxious and Anonymous for the latest Twin Peaks news.
What David ended up writing for me was amazing, it was wonderful. I was so excited, and nervous, and thrilled. We had a great time doing it, it was a bumpy ride getting there, but once we got there, we hugged. He was like, Its great, be happy. He said that he loves doing it so much, he said if people like the show, that he would do more. Now David can change his mind, as we know, but he said the hardest part is writing it, its just really buckling down and getting it written, he said.
But Sherilyn, you never know, you never know. Thats the truth, you dont know, its the throw of the dice, they could love it, they could hate it. But he loved doing it so much he said, If they love it, I would do more. I was like, Thats great!
Fenn also said that Lynch told her to stop tweeting on set.
David will say, Sherilyn Fenn, stop tweeting! (Laughs) When we were on the set, I took one picture, literally in my trailer, and I tweeted, and by the time I got to the set, I was called directly [to David], Sherilynn Fenn, you cant tweet pictures! Im like, Good god, why cant I tweet a picture? I waited until we were finished, and then I tweeted it. I mean, Im not giving away any secrets, because Im not saying this happens, or this happens.
When asked about the new season, Fenn said she didnt know any storylines outside of the ones her character, Audrey Horne, is involved in.
David didnt hand out scripts to all of us. I know what I do in it, and thats all I know.
Fenn also discussed the video she and other cast member made when Lynch briefly backed out of reviving the show in spring 2015.
I thought Twin Peaks would come back, and I would live happily ever after, I was so happy. Then he called on Easter [2015] and said, Im out. I said, What do you mean youre out? If youre out, Im out. Im not doing it without you. Then I called the other cast members, and Madchen [Amick] is a computer wiz, so we had this idea, and got everybody on board. My understanding is that he had agreed to do 9 [episodes], then when he got into the world, he felt like 9 wasnt enough, and he wanted to do twice as many, and that meant twice as much money, and they said no, and he said hes out. Then there was even talk that Mark [Frost] and Kyle [MacLachlan] were still going to do it, and thats when we got together. I said, Im not doing it, are you? Im literally not doing it if David isnt doing it, its ridiculous. I love Mark, I love Kyle, but sorry, we cant lose the key component. I saw how the second season went.
