Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi : Anyone suspect the script leak might be deliberate….
Re: Anyone suspect the script leak might be deliberate….
Uncertain. It would be one thing to let a few details slipbut to "give away" everything by a legitimate script leak? Suspect at best.
Re: Anyone suspect the script leak might be deliberate….
No. I mean what if a fake script was deliberately leaked?

Re: Anyone suspect the script leak might be deliberate….
Oh, I see. Sorry for mis-reading.
I don't see much of a point in doing that though, save to get fans even more excited for the movie. That wouldn't really be needful, as millions of people loved Episode VII and would doubtless already be looking forward to this one.
I suppose if I really stretch I might say that it could be done "in jest" to give something to read, but I'm not sure they'd pull what would amount to a prank.

Re: Anyone suspect the script leak might be deliberate….
you forget TFA script was leaked one year prior to release but the studio tried to play it off as fake
Re: Anyone suspect the script leak might be deliberate….
I don't see the point. Before this, we didn't know a whole lot about the movie, and hadn't even gotten a teaser yet. I could see this happening if there were legit leaks or correct fan speculation, but that is not the case.
Also, is there a precedent for legit leaking of 138 page high caliber fully realized fake scripts by a studio? This is Book of Mormon-level hoaxing we're talking about here (sorry Mormons).
Also, why bother if future trailers are going to invalidate it?
Aren't they taking a risk if this is the fan's expectation and the end result does not live up to it? I mean, me personally, if this turns out to be fake and Lando and Wedge are not in the movie, I'm going to be disappointed unless the real script is absolutely fantastic.

Re: Anyone suspect the script leak might be deliberate….
No, I don't really think so. I just think it's very bad fan fiction. When I say "fan fiction", I mean literally written by fans trying to get attention. Not in the childish way we've seen people use on the Star Wars boards
Disney doesn't have to pay people to leak scripts. Just like with fans making fake trailers posted to Youtube, people will do the same with scripts and movie posters. Some people enjoy writing. The chance to be able to write something and have it circulate on here like it has probably given the writer a lot of pleasure.

Re: Anyone suspect the script leak might be deliberate….
Occam's Razor IMO. Either it's the real deal or a fan made it. No big conspiracy.
Re: Anyone suspect the script leak might be deliberate….
If Occam's razor states that the simplest explanation is usually the best one, what's most likely? That it got leaked, or that some random guy wrote a 138 page script well above your average fan fiction in quality, guessed the exact title, printed it out, hole punched it, damaged it, re-scanned it, and put it on the internet?
Re: Anyone suspect the script leak might be deliberate….

You should read more fan fiction then.
AlsoI'm going to say it just to watch their heads explodewhat if it was a gal?
Re: Anyone suspect the script leak might be deliberate….
I've read too much as it is. :(
Trust me, I did NOT read this thinking it was going to be real.
If this had been a couple page "plot synopsis" invariably posted by somebody that knows somebody at LucasFilm, I would be calling BS all over it. But this if this is a hoax, it is one of the most epic hoaxes I have ever seen.

Re: Anyone suspect the script leak might be deliberate….
Probably a complete mis-direction fake.
Some of the things that bugged me in the script.
- What Luke tells Rey about The Force, Kylo Ren and the darkside during their training is very weird and throws everything about being a Jedi off it comes to the level where Luke sounds more like Palpatine/Sidous !
- Mara Jade is definitely not in the REAL movie the script makes her a complete waste of a character.
- The lines between Kylo Ren and Leia are horrible I can't believe something that like it would be in a movie made by Disney !!
- The Super bitch slap near the end regarding Rey,Kylo, Luke and Leia would probably rank this script/movie the biggest joke in film making history.

Re: Anyone suspect the script leak might be deliberate….
Not to mention an i love you/i know exchange between leia and *beep* lando whoever was behind this prank must have hired a twilight fangirl to write it

Re: Anyone suspect the script leak might be deliberate….
well too be fair TFA felt like it was written for children and a lot of cheesy lines.
Re: Anyone suspect the script leak might be deliberate….
Misdirection? I suppose there is a small chance, but I've never heard of a studio taking such elaborate steps before. What I am used to is the script leaking before the movie comes out. Remember how Tarantino handed out eight copies of Hateful Eight to the principle cast members and it leaked right away? This really isn't anything to be surprised about. It's freaking Star Wars. The last one leaked, and the next one probably will, too.
Re: Anyone suspect the script leak might be deliberate….
It could also be a draft.
Re: Anyone suspect the script leak might be deliberate….
After reading it through, I'm pretty sure its fake.

Re: Anyone suspect the script leak might be deliberate….
That's what I think too. There's a great chance that Disney is trying to fool us.
Re: Anyone suspect the script leak might be deliberate….
I haven't read it completely yet. Nevertheless there's a few reasons why I suspect it's more likely fake than not. But leaked by Disney and Johnson? My biggest question would be why? The problem is it's not exactly fan friendly, especially if it could be irrefutably traced back to them.
"Silly TFA apologists!" =

Just wanted to consider this possibility. There have been hints that Johnson is purposely going to let things slip to misdirect fans. Anythone think this might be one of them?
