Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi : Wow! This hasn't even made the imdb list of 10 most anticipated films.

The official IMDb 10 most anticipated movies of 2017 is out and Star Wars VIII hasn't even made the list. Tells a lot. And no I don't think it's an oversight as IMDb's job is reaseraching movies.

Simply put, the Star Wars fan base is on the Rogue One page right now.

The list also doesn't translate to dollars. The 2016 list saw BvS as the "most anticipated".

The traffic isn't a "one day" traffic. Pretty sure they took an aggregate of the last six months to see which are the most anticipated.

True, but the most traffic for a Star Wars movie would in fact be R1 at that point. R1 is where the news cycle is. It's where the speculation was and it just released. Thus people visit that page much more in the time frame. Ep 8 is still almost a year away from the currently playing movie that just came out.


Do you really think there's great anticipation for Power Rangers (the #1 movie)? Maybe there is some, but there has been a bunch of news a photos recently, which drives page visits. Which again is something we don't have for Ep 8.


Edit: Not to mention that page visits doesn't tell us people are thinking when the visit the page. I occasionally visit the TF5 page, but have zero interest in seeing the movie. I just want to check out what the boards are talking about. i.e. page visit =/= anticipation

There is no way that Power Rangers got more traffic than Guardians of gahoole. Power Rangers on Lions Gate YouTube channel got 21 mil views while Guardians has 8 mil +14 mil (teaser + trailer) views not counting the other 50 mil+ views on other sites like KinoCheck and ZeroMedia, etc.

Don't worry it's Star Wars dude.
