Spider-Man: Homecoming : Why does Tom Holland look smaller than Tobey?

When they are about the same height? Is it just me or does Tom look shorter than Tobey? They are both 5'8.

Nah, he's just a better fit for the role than Tobey.

I think it's his frame. He seems more slender.

Well he is technically still a kid while Tobey is a 40 some year old man, eo maybe that's the reason?????

He's in between the weight of Tobey and Garfield.

Mostly has to do with the way they're being filmed. They're playing up Holland's small size much more. With Maguire they didn't really pump much focus on it. They didn't quite try to fake him taller like is often done with Tom Cruise and the like but still, it's the difference between shooting to emphasize it and just shooting standard.

It's confirmed Peter will only be about 15 years old in this and that he won't graduate highschool til a future sequel. Maguire's Peter was more like 17 at the beginning of the first Raimi film. They obviously are just making him look way younger than Tobey who was in his late 20s when they filmed Spider-Man 1.
