I agree with you entirely, Stormy. I didn't want President Trump, but President Trump is what I have. My options are to either protest loudly by day and sob into my pillow by night, or accept that the people have spoken and see if I will be pleasantly surprised. As Eddie shared with Roland, "Hope for the best, expect the worst." Why don't we wait and see what happens before rioting in the streets? Huh, that's funny I feel like there's a familiar parallel there ~.^

Right, Jo! Trump is most definitely a despicable and deplorable human being who lies as often as he breathes, but he must prove himself as President. For better or worse, he is now PotUS. I think those protesting last night are just sore losers. As good as his ideas were, Bernie didn't stand a chance to Trump so it would have been a waste of time nominating him as the Dem candidate over Hilary. And that is when these morons should have spoken up and protested, not months after the fact.

I have little faith that Trump will actually do any good as PotUS, but he won the election as fairly as can be seen. It's a shocker for sure and it pisses me off, but it is what it is. we have a system of checks and balances set in place should a dictator take office, so I'm not worried about Trump pulling Hitler level atrocities. If he does do something out of line, we have methods of removing him from office. I am most worried about his connections to Russia and what that relationship means. I am sure Russia was behind the leaked info on Hilary. It means Trump is a pawn to Russia.

Anyway. We don't need to make this forum a place for OT Election discussion. I like to come here to escape the real world for a bit. In essence, that is all the Dark Tower is to me - escapism. Maybe the movie will suck, maybe it'll be entertaining. We don't know yet. But it sure as hell gets us away from the real craziness for a while, right?

I think there are def parallels here, Jo. And I live by the motto 'Expect for the worse and hope for the best!' I'm a few months from undergoing my 4th bowel resection. Giving this new medication 2 months to possibly help issues. But I'm mentally preparing for the bowel resection.

Strongly disagree here. If the media hadn't spent every single second tearing him down while simultaneously downplaying his presence, those projections of him winning by fifteen points could have been very valid come election day. The man made people energized and enthusiastic about voting.

I certainly don't disagree in how energizing Bernie is/was. With all things being equal, I think Bernie could have beaten Trump. But things were not equal, the biggest being how disgusting Trump is and how much the media enjoys scandal. Which is pretty evident given how scandalous this election has been.

Play to your strengths, I guess. And Trump played to his. But it really seems like blind, stupid luck that Trump won. Anyway, is what it is now. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.
