It : New Novel release after movie ?

New Novel release after movie ?

Everyone knows when an adaptation of a movie comes out, sometimes a new book is released with a new cover. For example:
2013's CARRIE had it own book cover with Chlo M. On the front with blood on her face.

Anyone thinks that when IT is released next year we would get the IT novel with a cover based from the movie ? Maybe even with the new IT logo font? I HOPE SO !!!

What do you guys think ?

Re: New Novel release after movie ?

I believe so. They should do it. I've seen other books that did it, especially for the anniversary

Re: New Novel release after movie ?

I sooooo hope we get one. See Bills Pennywise on the cover with the new logo would be amazing.

Re: New Novel release after movie ?

I can see them releasing something like that before the movie comes out, maybe sometime in the summer?

Re: New Novel release after movie ?

Certainly possible. I remember the first time see The Stand in a book store it had Gary Sinease and Molly Ringwald on the cover.

Re: New Novel release after movie ?

There is going to be a Target release of the book soon with a killer cover!

I have a couple already, but I already put this one on pre-order.

Re: New Novel release after movie ?

I like the current cover better, with the smile and red nose. That one is cool though

Re: New Novel release after movie ?

Haha yeah, I have that one as well. So far I only am missing the 20th anniversary edition, and that orange sky cover where the kid is running with the balloons.

Re: New Novel release after movie ?

Anyone know if I can print out a picture of Pennywise or something and put that into the dust cover of a hard back book as a cover ?
Could I make my own somewhere ?

Re: New Novel release after movie ?

I hope NOT, as I hate the editions where the book covers have something related to the screen adaptation. The first reason is because it seems as if the book is based on the film/TV adaptation when it's the other way around. The other reason is because it doesn't leave much to imagination. As I read the nocel before watching the miniseries, I wasn't picturing Tim Curry's characterization, but my own concept of Pennywise. The same with The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, Frankenstein, etc. I don't like seeing The hobbit, Carrie or Frankenstein editions with Martin Freeman, Chloe Moretz or Boris Karloff in the covers.

Why would anyone not just want this one?

Re: New Novel release after movie ?

I have a copy of your "favourite" hardcover. Very cool - house with teeth (would make a nice design for Neibolt St House). I'm not going to use it though because I find it a collector's item. So I'm re-reading a softcover instead. I've once seen a copy of that hardcover go for about $80 on eBay once!

Re: New Novel release after movie ?

I used to have the house cover in hardback, but the drain one is my favorite

Did you read in German?

Re: New Novel release after movie ?

Most likely, most of the time when a novel is turned into a film you get a new edition with a movie tie in cover.

I tend to avoid those like the plague, nine of ten of those covers are horrible

Re: New Novel release after movie ?

Hopefully this one would be good.
I didn't like the Chol Mortez Carrie cover.

I own this copy and love the look of it:

Re: New Novel release after movie ?

That one is primarily my second favourite hardcover - it focuses just on IT in the drain, and very well at this. My no. one favourite (which I have in possession) is the house with teeth and ghastly window-eyes (Neibolt House?) and the drain in the front of it. - Therefore the drain connecting the house basement in favour of IT. Cool. If anyone hasn't got It and want to read it, I recommend just buying a cheap softcover. I think King's It is one of the most influential and widely selling horror novels of all time. You can find it in many book stores.
