Travel and Recreation : Do you like to travel?

Do you like to travel?

And do you do it very often?

I take a ski trip every year and go to Florida most years. I also take short trips to the US a few times a year and try to take a trip outside of North America once a year, but that's not always possible.

How about you?

Re: Do you like to travel?

Not very often. I have fun once I'm at a place, but I don't like what it takes to get there like plane flight, long car rides, packing/unpacking, lugging tons of stuff back and forth.

I also prefer not having to share a bathroom. Not usually an option when traveling unless you rent a house or something. I also like sleeping in my own bed.

Re: Do you like to travel?

You're in California, right? So you have a huge variety of things to do there from North to south. You're lucky.

I have a cousin who lives in Eureka and my college roomate lives in Berkley, so I'm hoping to visit them some time in the next year.

Re: Do you like to travel?

Yes there is alot of places to visit from here. Unfortunately I have not traveled to probably half of them.

Re: Do you like to travel?

Yes, I travel all the time. I went to England/Ireland/France earlier this year, am going to Canada next month, and am going on a secret adventure early next spring. yes.gif

Re: Do you like to travel?

Sounds like fun. I saw your Ireland pics… looked nice. We were planning a family trip to the UK for this month, back in January, but it was decided that the impending Brexit nonsense may cause problems with the availability of things, etc. So we aborted that. Hopefully we'll make it sometime soon.

Have fun in Canada! (I'm from Nova Scotia)

Re: Do you like to travel?

It didn't seem to have changed much while we were over there. It's definitely worth a visit if you've got the time, and it's not as expensive as other, more exotic vacations. yes.gif I hope you get to go soon! What a lovely family adventure.

Thanks. biggrin.gif I'll be in Banff and Jasper.

Re: Do you like to travel?

I love traveling, but wasn't able to these last few years. Finally got to go to Florida back in March, and I plan on going there in December or January. Might also take a couple short weekend trips between now and then to various places nearby.

Happiness, coming and going. I watch you look at me, watch my fever growing. I know just who I am.

Re: Do you like to travel?

Cool. Where in Florida?

Re: Do you like to travel?

Re: Do you like to travel?

Yes, I recall you mentioning a few places you've traveled to. I hope to do that too. I really want to see Australia and New Zealand.

You're going to have to find someone to babysit your dog now though. ;)

Re: Do you like to travel?

I don't like it much. I will fly within the US, but don't really enjoy that part. My gf, on the other hand has flown to Europe and many other countries!

Re: Do you like to travel?

Flying is pretty dull, the only fun part is take off and landing

I think it's cool for others to globe trot. My sis went to Italy and got emotional when it was time to leave

Re: Do you like to travel?

Yeah, my gf loves Europe, goes every chance she gets!

Re: Do you like to travel?

Getting there is the fun part. I like the beginning stuff. The anticipation. Going to the airport, waiting, the flight itself, the crossover flights. Getting Starbucks at the airport. Lol I think the airport stuff is the best part of traveling tbh. I pick crossover flights on purpose, because I like seeing different airports.

Re: Do you like to travel?

Years ago I traveled quite a bit for a 2 year period, and at that time, I loved the excursions and while I didn't always like where I'd end up, there were also some very nice places.

I think a lot of it also depends on who you're traveling with. I started out doing mostly solo traveling, and then a friend joined me on more flights.

Haven't been on a plane in ages.

About 4 years ago, I had a friend who wanted me to go on a cruise with her, while it sounded like a lot of fun, it's also very expensive, and I felt like I'd feel trapped on a cruise ship. I don't think I'd be a fan of cruises.

Am I missing something? I could be missing something. I often miss things.

Re: Do you like to travel?

I absolutely hate traveling, everything about it is frustrating.
I get that being somewhere different is interesting and exciting, but getting there is a chore!
I used to feel that way when I was younger. It seemed like a hassle, and I just wanted to stay home and party with my friends.

But my last girlfriend was a flight attendant, and I started traveling with her a fair amount, on her pass, for the 2 yrs we went out, and it started to feel easier and routine.

Now I actually enjoy being at the airport, people watching, and meeting new people on the plane. And I'm more organized about planning and packing etc.

I find it exciting to be in new places, with different people, cultures, architecture, food… India was very interesting.

Re: Do you like to travel?

Love it. I go to Europe every year. Last year was Germany and the Nordic countries. This summer it's the western Mediterranean.

I am a poor but avid skier, and just ski the western Quebec area all winter.

Re: Do you like to travel?

Nice. Are these usually family vactions or work related trips to Europe, Corwin?

The Laurentians are good skiing. I've been to Mont Gabriel, Tremblant, and St. Anne. I love going into Quebec city too…the women are beautiful.

Have you skied out west at all? Banff, Sunshine, or Whistler? If not, I highly recommend it. Skiing down Banff, lookong down at Lake Louise, is amazing.

If you want to try some cat skiing, at a place that's not as expensive or crowded, I recommend Fernie BC.

Re: Do you like to travel?

Summer trips are for pleasure. This will be a family vacay.

I haven't done the Laurentians or out West but I have skied in Vermont, Smuggler's Notch, three winters in a row. Lottsa fun.

Re: Do you like to travel?

>I take a ski trip.

Nice story, breh.

Re: Do you like to travel?

I've determined that only the insane travel during Christmas time.

Re: Do you like to travel?

Where in Florida? I partially grew up in the Cocoa Beach area which was pretty cool at the time but the place is kind of a ****hole now. Maybe it always was, idk? giveup.gif

Re: Do you like to travel?

West Pensacola

Re: Do you like to travel?

Orlando. I was over near Cocoa beach a couple of years ago when we went to the Kennedy Space center.

I guess I was in Miami too, once. There's a pic of me with my parents on Miami Beach when I was about 2. But I don't remember it.

Re: Do you like to travel?

I enjoy traveling about as much as I dislike having to pay the pricey expenses simply just for a hotel room, lol. Typically, travel to at least one mysterious place that I’ve never stepped foot into each year, mainly to be intrepid; and I also visit Tucson, Arizona once a year to go on a hiking trip near the Grand Canyon.

Re: Do you like to travel?

I think I'm one of those strange Americans who has never held a desire to go see the Grand Canyon. No interest in deserts, brown, and dry. I've seen pictures, and despite the touted glory, it's just not my cup of tea.

If Itty just happened to disappear while you were down there, I'd be happy to pay for your trip. j/s
