Re: Do you have problems being close to people?
Very much so. People tend to think I'm closer to them than I actually am and it causes problems. I usually have a wall between me and everyone else but most people either don't see it or just ignore it and think my warmth and general bubbly nature is indicative of caring deeply for them.
But when I am close to someone, it's rare and special to me and they can hurt me badly 😭 That's been like 5 people or less.
It's easier for me to be emotionally close online, I think.

Re: Do you have problems being close to people?
Think that's because there's less perceived risk in opening up to someone online versus offline?

Re: Do you have problems being close to people?
I think so. It weakens my defenses a bit, especially because I feel like I can control our level of contact. I also feel like I don't have to worry as much about "losing" them (through moving or whatever). Even though that's not true because they can easily log off forever and it would be hard to find them. Other than my brother, my deepest relationships all at least started online.
Re: Do you have problems being close to people?
If all your relationships started online, you're not living life the right way.
Re: Do you have problems being close to people?
Right. If we're searching for a meaningful connection with someone special, we should try prowling the local halfway houses for obese crack whores with ankle bracelets.

I will capital o your japseye, dickhead.
Re: Do you have problems being close to people?
I said my deepest ones, not all. I was including friends in that.
Re: Do you have problems being close to people?
I don't think you understand how weird it looks when your "deepest" relationships all anonymous strangers you met online.
Re: Do you have problems being close to people?
Started online. Stop being dense, your Shredder act is over
Re: Do you have problems being close to people?
Started as anonymous strangers online. What are you not comprehending here?
Re: Do you have problems being close to people?
Everyone you meet in life is an anonymous stranger until you get to know them.
Re: Do you have problems being close to people?
Oh FUCK. Checkmate. Do they have those in Checkers? I think not! Wait, do they?
Re: Do you have problems being close to people?
King me.
Re: Do you have problems being close to people?
That demand still stands. King me, Crystal.
Re: Do you have problems being close to people?
That was like my favorite Stygism. Also "too bad so sad" and "****** ****** chicken dinner." So boyish 😍
Re: Do you have problems being close to people?
Correction, everyone you meet in person is just a stranger until you get to know them. You can't hide anonymity in person. Being in person is the exact opposite of being anonymous. Geez….did that really need to be explicitly explained to you?
Re: Do you have problems being close to people?
Okay, sure, it's anonymous at first in the sense you don't know what the other person sounds or looks like (people can and do lie about who they are irl, but it's difficult to lie about what you look like - that never mattered much to me anyway though). That's why you trade information, talk to each other, and eventually meet. Jesus Christ, do I really have to explain what getting to know someone entails?
It's not difficult to grasp why someone who is closed off would be more comfortable opening up to someone online. If it blossoms into more it's a beautiful, organic thing with a strong foundation in trust and openness. I already know I'm socially weird - along with most everyone here - and admitted it in my first post in this thread so you're not telling me anything new anyways. You're just grasping at klams

Re: Do you have problems being close to people?
Lol, grasping at Klams. I get it, you guys all have some weird social anxiety which inhibits your ability to interact with people in person. And that is weird to me, because you lose 90% of communication when you take away personal interactions. That's why text/messaging forms of communications have been lost in translation where the reader may read something based on an incorrect perception and misread what the sender was trying to say.
Therefore, you have broken communication where in person, you can hear the tone in their voice, see their face, read their body language, and get a good sense of what the other person is trying to convey.
And I get how this is going over your head because you can't communicate with anyone in person. Therefore, you just don't get what I'm talking about.

Re: Do you have problems being close to people?
I actually don't have social anxiety. I like talking to people in real life and would consider myself an extrovert. I find it easy to carry a conversation and all that. I'm not talking about my ability to *talk* to people (and in fact no one is except you), the thread was about *getting close* to people. I'm just closed off to a lot of the people I talk to irl. I agree communicating in person is better and more satisfying on every level. I just seem to open up to people more easily if it's written word, I think for all the reasons you described. Once that hurdle is passed I would obviously prefer to keep it to in-person talk. But it's easier for me if it starts online. Thems the breaks, nigga.

Re: Do you have problems being close to people?
Socially weird in the sense it's hard for me to get close to people (which is exactly what I said in all of my posts). That doesn't contradict what I said at all. Social anxiety is a different animal which I thankfully don't deal with.

Those people are called "loners." Socially weird people are people who have trouble or issues socializing with people in person. Hence why they normally live "loner" lives and only talk to anonymous strangers online.

As I said in my first post, I'm bubbly and warm and people tend to think I like them more than I actually do or that we're closer than we actually are. But there's only about 5 people I've actually felt close to myself. If I had issues actually even talking to people in the first place this wouldn't be a thing…

Is that your go to move when you're getting pwned? Lol.
You said it yourself, you're weird, cold and closed off to the world. You live a loner life and only get close to people who you can easily cut off when communication goes awry, without provocation because you never had look at them in the face. And that is why you're a cold hearted bitch on these boards too.
You're as transparent as any other ditzy tart.
