It's true. Initially I assumed he was some Soapboxer that wanted to cut ties with his former endeavors (who wouldn't? that lot is pathetic), but obviously he's not a brain dead monkey and has an actual personality (unlike everyone else from there). Still probably a virgin, but you can't win 'em all.

I think it's a combination of options A and B. I imagine he wants people to feel they can go to the nimda account with their butthurt crying and problems and also feel as though it'll be taken seriously, which might not be the case if he extensively trolled under the nimda account directly.
I suspect a handful of posters would lose their **** if they realized he's essentially on the board at all hours and even in the same threads where they're complaining about xyz taking place (presumably after having already shot his main a PM and figuring he wasn't around), so maybe to that end some may see it as sneaky or something?
There's absolutely an element of artificially inflating board activity though. The "traffic" and how much people post is such a regular talking point with him I'm sure he sees it as a ploy to keep some semblance of community and appeal to lurkers. Or maybe he doesn't give a **** about any of the above and just wants to sow wild troll oats without being incessantly bothered by the mentally stunted manchildren that post here.

It is. When I spoke to him earlier this year he seemed to have the attitude that since he owned the site he could do anything and act however he wants, but I tried to explain that actually the opposite is true. I'm glad he finally absorbed it. Slow fella, but he gets there

I started the socks a few months ago because I was trying to hide from someone, then I just found I'm more comfortable being anonymous. So the personality flaw ****. Goddammit if I'll be called a weeb though. I'm not that sick.

That begs the question: are all alternate accounts "socks"? I don't consider one a sock unless there's some degree of mystery or deceit associated with the account's identity. On IMDb Mange would regularly delete, and then return bearing a moniker that was sometimes directly associated with a recognizable theme, and sometimes not – but he never once disguised his prose or otherwise denied who he was, and was always taken to be Mange without having to announce it.
I'm happy to say who I am if asked, and this is very much my main account now (I don't have access to the pw for Moderator/Meerkat/whatever the **** else). For that matter, I don't think you actually deny who you are if someone guesses, nor do you alter your e-voice in an attempt to hide. However you make so many new ones every day it's practically hiding by definition, so the same may not apply to you.
