However I'm sure he's the complete opposite in real life. Which makes him a decent actor I suppose.

Yeah, it's like a cliche of story-writing where you have someone stuck up and by the end they need to get over that to bond with someone (in this case, his brother). I wrote a screenplay where the teenage son and his dad got along great and someone said that I should write him as a rebellious teenager. I said "what a cliche" and left it as is. I've read lots of opinions online where fans say they are sick of this cliche and having kid actors who are justing annoying for the sake of conflict.

As for Nick in this, he wasn't too bad, just your usual detached teen.
