I don't think critics as bearers of truth. People can love a movie with bad reviews, especially one with a risky topic like TD. However is a painful scenario for a new filmmaker. The resounding tone of the sentences surprise me.

Yes I agree with everything you said. Also, lots of respect to the Filmmakers, Especially Charlie and Justin Lader for taking the risk and not compromising their vision. That's the most important thing. It's all a learning experience, for everyone, especially these two. Hope they keep their head held high, remain uncompromising for their future projects as well because that's the one thing they'll always have whether people like their films or not.

Also agree. I think critics don't realize all of the long hours all of the crew members work on the film and the effort everyone puts into it. Like you said,

People can love a movie with b238ad reviews, especially one with a risky topic like TD.

I've seen some critically bashed films and actually enjoyed them.

Oh not really. I was a fan of The New Generation when I was a kid and that was it. But I always knew who Kirk and Spock are, of course. Just recently I began to discover vintage Star Trek gem movies. And I like most of them.

(questioned the cast of Seguel, zero chemistry with RM and the characters are a little more than sketch). Wondering if Charlie needs another screenwriter for the next (The script of The One is so bland in my opinion)

Movie definitely has interesting premise with challenging ideas. Perhaps ultimately flawed but absorbing first watch is guaranteed, no doubt. It must have been fun for all of them to work together on this.
