totally and 100% agree. can live without him, and don't know why they brought him into the picture, with all the current broken characters. And Victoria's histrionics make her that much more painful to watch as a parent.

He's actually making me feel bad for Victoria. And *gasp* defend her !

He is one of the most entitled kids I've seen on television. When Victoria had the nerve to ground him for a month he whined as if he'd never been punished for anything in his life.

He "stole a credit card?" Wow, I didn't know that. He robbed somebody? Did he attack them in an alley or put a knife to someone's throat and demand their wallet? Now THAT is bad behavior. No, Reed opened a drawer and saw Victoria's credit card lying there. He was curious to go on a forbidden website (completely normal for a 15 year old boy) so he used her card..a card that she gave him anyway to go shopping. She is so rich and absent-minded that I guess he thought she wouldn't notice the charge. Or more likely; he didn't "think" at all, like most kids that age. And he stole a few alcoholic drinks while at a big family gathering? I'm not surprised (or horrified as YOU seem to be) that he did that. I'm sure being at a gathering like that with family that you haven't seen in ages can be quite intimidating to a young person. Maybe he was nervous and thought alcohol would make it easier. I'm not condoning this behavior; I'm just saying that it isn't shocking, or different from any typical 15 year old's behavior. Do you have a clue what many 15 year-olds are doing?? They are smoking weed, drinking every weekend, having sexual intercourse on a regular basis. Some of the worse ones are robbing houses, or beating on other kids in school, and committing other violent crimes. Sorry but do you live under a rock? Victoria is a LOUSY mother and she is doing everything wrong. She is only alienating her child and forcing him to lie to her. She is building a wall between her and her son, who actually needs and would like to have her guidance and support. Instead the idiot is making an enemy of her own son. Seriously, I have been through this before, and I know what I am talking about. I'm going to assume that you are either too young to have kids of your own, or too old to remember what it is like being that age. Or maybe you are one of those unreasonably strict parents that beat their kids for looking at naughty pictures or swearing. And most kids raised like that grow into violent, maladjusted adults. Either way, I hope you are not a parent..

Actually, yes; Victoria IS kind of mean to Reed. She is also a lousy mother who needs to read a couple books about teenagers since, she obviously forgot what it is like to be that age. She really is a witch to her son..and acts so cold towards him, like she doesn't want him there.

He's actually allowing us to see actual realistic parenting struggles on this show, a rarity in a genre where kids gets sent to boarding school for a decades as if it's no big deal.

I agree. They shouldn't have brought Reed to town until he was a grown man and show how he benefited from growing up AWAY from the Newmans.

Why would his father let him come back live with Victoria, when he fought so hard to keep Reed from the Newman influence! And especially not NOW, when teenage Reed is at him most impressionable!

Apparently he was just as sick of Reed as we are ! I can see why. He quite coldly told Victoria that Reed was "her problem now" when he said he could stay with Victoria.

Soap operas are based on reality. How can you create a world/community without young people? Is every woman supposed to be barren? Is every guy supposed to be sterile? that's ridiculous. The reason they put young cast members on is to attract a younger viewing audience. I don't see anything wrong with it..anyway in 6 months Reed will be 25 and a CEO at Newman Enterprises, so what's the big deal?

I was thrilled when Cassie became a teen and started to be mischievous. Then they killed her off. So disappointed.

Mouthy?? Are you kidding? IMO Reed is downright normal and polite. When I was 15 i was so much worse than that kid. Really, he isn't a brat at all. And compared to typical 15 year olds, Reed is actually low-key.. Also you must consider the way he grew up; without a mother, and a father who probably didn't give his son a lot of attention. Actually we don't know what his life was like before he came into the picture, so we can't judge. As far as the character is concerned, I can take him or leave him; he doesn't bother me, and it's always nice to inject some new blood into a show with a small cast. I mean, don't you get tired of Phyllis and her mean, lizard face on your screen all the time?

Yeah, because guys understand that kind of thing; Nick knows that looking at sexy images on the internet is totally normal for a 15 year-old boy, and it is really quite harmless. Reed definitely needs a father figure in the house. I'm not surprised he turns to Billy for advice. Victoria is so cold to that kid that it makes me sad to watch. She acts like she doesn't want him there, and you know Reed picks up on that too..

Now that I can agree with. She doesn't have a motherly touch. He acts and thinks like a 15-year old. Many of the SORAS'd teens on Y&R have come back as spoiled "brats", that's how they are usually written. There's only but so many mature teens with an old soul and Reed isn't one of them.

As soon as Reed called JT, my first thought was "divide and conquer"..Glad to see Billy confront him with that.

Ha what was hilarious about that was Billy didn't even need to hear what was going on,. Soon as he heard the name JT, he looked in the room Reed was in knowing exactly what had happened and went and reprimanded him for it.

I have to say that I am rather enjoying Victoria being unraveled by her son these days.

Yeah when they made him 15 my first thought was a car must be around the corner for when he hits 16 as they did with Summer though I think she was older.

Funny how this all works when teen Summer first hit the screens in the form of a brat, the character got major complaints. Then when they niced her up, she got even more complaints only they seemed to be directed more toward the actress instead.

I think they're doing an excellent job with Reed because he's representing the typical teenager these days. In fact, he's mild compared to most and seems less than a party animal than his father was at that age.

How long before he throws his first party in the Newman mansion?

Victor bought Noah a car when he was 16 too.
