The Amityville Horror : Was there some significance to the drums?

Was there some significance to the drums?

George hears drums one night, and goes downstairs to investigate.

Was there some significance to the sound of drums, or was it just random tormenting by the demon?

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.

Re: Was there some significance to the drums?

The property is part of the 18th culture, so the military drums suggested either that it's an old haunting with more than one entity on the property, or one demonic resorting to a variety of tricks. Or so the story goes.

Re: Was there some significance to the drums?

A demons mission is to lie and drive a person nuts. Nonstop drumming would bother many people.

Re: Was there some significance to the drums?

I think that George Lutz claimed to hear a marching band playing downstairs in the middle of the night while he was in bed and everyone else was asleep

Re: Was there some significance to the drums?

It was built on a indian plantation not military.

Re: Was there some significance to the drums?

I've read that George heard either marching band sounds or the sounds of an orchestra out of tune/randomly playing/whatever, supposedly anyway.
