Re: Anybody not from Sweden seen it?

Im from Finland and I have seen all the Slskapsresa-films. And I think they are all great.

But I do speak Swedish, but not as a mother tongue.

Re: Anybody not from Sweden seen it?

I live in Denmark and I love it.

Re: Anybody not from Sweden seen it?

I'm Dutch and I've seen it. I thought it was alright, but maybe you should be Swedish or at least Scandinavian to fully understand all jokes.

Re: Anybody not from Sweden seen it?

I'm Norwegian, had all the movies on VHS and now I have them all on DVD. Norwegians LOVE berg and his Sllskapsresan-movies and the first one is by far the best. One of the best comedies EVER made, not only in Scandinavia but in the world.

I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to Lasse berg here in Oslo a little over 10 years ago. He was just as expected, a mild-mannered wonderful and gentle man, really generous and sweet. Together with the Marx Bros and Mel Brooks he is one of my biggest comedy heroes.

"Invalido!" Funniest single-word-line in movie history! lol

Re: Anybody not from Sweden seen it?

Hi, I'm from Colombia (living in Sweden) and recently tried to see this movie and I completeley, totally, HATED IT. I guess you have to be Scandinavian, not only to understand it, but to like it. The sense of humour is very particular and not universal. I didn't think it was funny at all.

Re: Anybody not from Sweden seen it?

Yes, you need to be a Swede or at least Scandinavian to fully understand this movie. In Sweden, this movie is generally classified as the most popular and funniest Swedish movie ever made. Almost all Swedes have seen it. Most Swedes can repeat several lines of this movie (and hum the music) and laugh about it together. It is actually an important part of the Swedish culture. Anyone interested in the Swedish people and culture MUST see this movie.

Re: Anybody not from Sweden seen it?

It's a very nice and funny movie, but I think you overstate it's importance somewhat. It's not the only one to be called "the most popular and funniest Swedish movie ever made". To the older generation it's probably "Att angra en brygga" that tops the list and some of the younger people may not even know it exists. For some of them Swedish films doesn't exist, period.

Re: Anybody not from Sweden seen it?

My wife and I watched it last night. For me an old favorite I grew up with, but have not seen for maybe 20 years, for her it was the first time. She did seem to enjoy it a lot, though afterwards she remarked that sometimes she didn't understand what I was laughing about. Nothing strange about that, she is Japanese and have only been living in Sweden for a little more than 5 years. Only natural she would not get all cultural stereotypes and references. Still, she said she would very much like to see the follow up movie "Snowroller: Sllskapsresan 2". She do love snow, downhill skiing and the Alps.
