The film's original title was "The Hollywood Strangler".

It was changed at the last minute in an attempt to cash on the recent success of another "telephone" themed horror movie, namely, "When a Stranger Calls".

OMGI was visiting Hollywood when they were making this film. It was a tripbrings back SO many good memories.
